George Tirebiter wondered into the USC Downtown Los Angeles Campus around the late 1940’s and could be see all the way to the early 1950’s and the rest is historyJ well not quite. There were different versions of the history some say that students rescued him off the street. Either way he was a shaggy, dirty, but lovable muttJ. Ultimately in

los angeles real estate: Father's Day is this Sunday: How about going to Dodger Stadium? - 06/14/13 06:53 PM
Father’s Day is this Sunday: How about going to Dodger Stadium? Father’s Day is this Sunday: How about going to Dodger Stadium as a pre-father’s day? Well Diane’s father has not been to a Dodger/Braves game since 1954. In those days they called them The Boston Braves and the Brooklyn DodgersJ The two of us went to the Game: me and Diane’s father. The game was fun and so close that we ended up having extra innings. Since he is a Braves Fan it was extra special. The only bad part for him was that the Dodgers won

los angeles real estate: As Interest Rates are creeping up:Time to check out your Credit Score! - 06/09/13 03:29 PM
As Interest rates are creeping up: Time to check out your Credit Score! As interest rates are slowly creeping up I would like to caution those of you who are planning to purchase a property in the near term with a mortgage vs. all cash it is time to check your Credit Scores. According to the Consumer Financial Credit Bureau (CFCB) Credit Scores sold to consumers are not the same as the ones lenders use. Hence there is a difference between the scores which in turn could be the difference between a lender approving or rejecting an applicant for a

los angeles real estate: "The Last Bookstore" in Los Angeles, CA of the top 20 in the world! - 05/24/13 02:36 PM
The Last Bookstore (located in Los Angeles, CA) is considered one of the top 20 Bookstores in the World! The name was chosen not by accident, rather was chosen by Irony. The owner who started this fantastic bookstore in 2005 was quite aware that Book Stores were and are endangered species. Hence Josh Spencer decided to name it “THE LAST BOOKSTORE” I saw something on the internet about cool bookstores in the Greater Los Angeles Area, this in turn made me want to visit this bookstore ,since we never been to this one. Turns out as far as

los angeles real estate: March 31st Easter was not that long ago well it depends on which one:) - 04/28/13 12:16 AM
March 31st Easter was not that long ago well depends on which Easter we are talking aboutJ When I was a child I thought, time moved slowly and I would never grow up. Time was just moving slowly, now I look at time and it is flying. How do I explain that….well I cannot? So now getting back to my point, I was just coloring the hardboiled eggs so when Diane came home from Boston she would feel good about Easter and enjoy what she loves most “hardboiled eggs”. This of course reminded me of the time

los angeles real estate: Kale: Loved by many, feared by some, where do you stand? - 04/06/13 10:18 PM
Kale: loved by many, feared by some, where do you stand? I love the Lacinato Kale Over the years I have read a lot about the benefits of eating Kale. Interestingly it has been one of my staple side dishes at the dinner table. I have always loved using this edible food as Decoration at the Thanksgiving Dinners and then the following day adding a new twist to the leftover Turkey. I have been a Kale fan when it was not cool, hip or trendy, so I am thrilled now it is becoming a more popular dish on the dinner table.

los angeles real estate: One of my favorite Chardonnay's is produced by Chalone Vineyards ! - 02/08/13 12:30 AM
One of my favorite Chardonnay’s is produced by Chalone Vineyards in Monterey County, CA. I f you are looking for a crisp, steely chardonnay, try their 2010 Estate Grown Chardonnay by Chalone. Talk to the Wine maker Robert Cook and he will agree with me, that this wine is fantastic. He attributes the wine being so exceptional is due the cool temperatures in 2010 and it allowed them to let the grapes ripen on the wine. I personally love the complex flavors, particularly the peach, pear and citrus flavors. (I do not care for the Oaky Chardonnays and Chalone

los angeles real estate: General Douglas MacArthur & Dunkin Donuts what do they have in common? - 01/20/13 01:31 PM
General Douglas MacArthur and Dunkin Donuts what do they have in common? Before I get into it, let me digress, having live a large portion of my life on the East Coast of the United States, particularly in New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts. I have grown up with Dunkin Donuts. I can give you the slogans which would age me. I know most of you remember the latest:’ America Runs on Dunkin’ well I remember “Only at Dunkin’ Donuts”J. A bit of history: In 1949 Bill Rosenberg opened his first Dunkin’ Donuts Shoppe in Quincy, MA. Sixty some years later

Blogosphere is buzzing about FB’s Changes & what the ramifications will be for FB & Google. There has been so much written I can hardly keep up. What it means, what will this do and everyone has an opinion one way or another. The deluge of the buzz is beyond my comprehension. I liked the old way betterJ Now let’s keep in mind all the buzz is about a Beta Version not all the Billions

The Newspaper business is fading? Read this and then tell me if it is fading or here to stayJ? I had a friend who sent me this great assessment of the Newspapers around the country! I have read SEVEN of the twelve she mentioned: 1. The Wall Street Journal is read by the people who run the country. 2. The Washington Post is read by people who think they run the country. 3. The New York Times is read by people who think they should run the country and who are very good at crossword puzzles.

los angeles real estate: Car Buying in the Future via DocuSign! It is a dream not reality Yet! - 11/22/12 09:22 PM
Car Buying in the Future with DocuSign! It is a dream not reality Yet! If you ever bought a car you have experienced the most hard pressure sales techniques ever. I went with Diane to buy a car. We drove into the dealership, as soon as we parked there were six Salesmen standing in front of the main entrance door. This scene reminded me of Vultures circling around the dying person in the desert. Once we were ‘passed off’ to the floor sales person, then the drama began, from selection of the car to actually signing at the lowest price

There are some Marketing Slogans/Benefits which I find funny or just plain wrong! OK maybe it is just me, but you tell me if I am wrong. Look at this picture and do you see the Marketing Benefit “48 hrs worth of protection”?? I am sorry but I take a shower every morning before I leave our home and when I do not take a shower at night Diane complains. So let’s say I only take 2 to 3 showers in a 24 hour period where is my benefit with this deodorant?:)) Then again let me put it another way

los angeles real estate: What does it mean"Probate"? A question asked by buyers and sellers! - 10/18/12 03:20 PM
What does it mean Probate? A question often asked by buyers and sometimes even by sellers. Since I get asked this question more often, I thought I would share this with all potential buyers and sellers, not just in the Greater Los Angeles area, but everywhere there is a need to answer this question. Probate is the court procedure that changes the legal ownership of the property after the owner passed away. Probate makes sure that the last will and testament is valid. Generally the executor named in’ the will’ supervises this process. In other words “the will” must be
