George Tirebiter wondered into the USC Downtown Los Angeles Campus around the late 1940’s and could be see all the way to the early 1950’s and the rest is historyJ well not quite. As interest rates are slowly creeping up I would like to caution those of you who are planning to purchase a property in the near term with a mortgage vs. all cash it is time to check your Credit Scores.

The name was chosen not by accident, rather was chosen by Irony. The owner who started this fantastic bookstore in 2005 was quite aware that Book Stores were and are endangered species. Hence Josh Spencer decided to name it “THE LAST BOOKSTORE”

The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books of Books 2013 was hosted by USC again. As I wrote in a previous blog it was a total success from a security standpoint. Now let us look at it from an entertainment perspective, it was a total success from that perspective too.

When I was a child I thought, time moved slowly and I would never grow up. Time was just moving slowly, now I look at time and it is flying. How do I explain that….well I cannot?
So now getting back to my point, I was just coloring the hardboiled eggs so when Diane came home from Boston she would feel good about Easter and enjoy what she loves most “hardboiled eggs”.

Kale: loved by many, feared by some, where do you stand? I love the Lacinato Kale
Over the years I have read a lot about the benefits of eating Kale. Interestingly it has been one of my staple side dishes at the dinner table. I have always loved using this edible food as Decoration at the Thanksgiving Dinners and then the following day adding a new twist to the leftover Turkey. I have been a Kale fan when it was not cool, hip or trendy, so I am thrilled now it is becoming a more popular dish on the dinner table.

One of my favorite Chardonnay’s is produced by Chalone Vineyards in Monterey County, CA.
I f you are looking for a crisp, steely chardonnay, try their 2010 Estate Grown Chardonnay by Chalone. Talk to the Wine maker Robert Cook and he will agree with me, that this wine is fantastic. He attributes the wine being so exceptional is due the cool temperatures in 2010 and it allowed them to let the grapes ripen on the wine.

If you ever bought a car you have experienced the most hard pressure sales techniques ever. I went with Diane to buy a car. We drove into the dealership, as soon as we parked there were six Salesmen standing in front of the main entrance door. This scene reminded me of Vultures circling around the dying person in the desert.

OK maybe it is just me, but you tell me if I am wrong. Look at this picture and do you see the Marketing Benefit “48 hrs worth of protection”?? I am sorry but I take a shower every morning before I leave our home and when I do not take a shower at night Diane complains. So let’s say I only take 2 to 3 showers in a 24 hour period where is my benefit with this deodorant?:))

What does it mean Probate? A question often asked by buyers and sometimes even by sellers. Since I get asked this question more often, I thought I would share this with all potential buyers and sellers, not just in the Greater Los Angeles area, but everywhere there is a need to answer this question.
Probate is the court procedure that changes the legal ownership of the property after the owner passed away. Probate makes sure that the last will and testament is valid. Generally the executor named in’ the will’ supervises this process.
