In case you did not know, the Los Angeles Country Department of Beaches Harbors has jurisdiction over the Land Leases in Marina Del Rey, CA. Many people are surprised to hear that Marina Del Rey is remarkably as in London the property owners do not own the land. They lease if from the County, the State or the Country.

This is not unusual if you saw what ocean view condominiums are selling for as well as townhomes that are walking distance to the ocean, then you will understand that it is actually a relatively low number. As I reflect on my life, there are so many reasons and people I am thankful for, that words cannot always describe and do justice to it.
Too often we are busy in our own world and we do not verbalize the many reasons we should be thankful for, rather than just take them for granted. Or even worse we are too be busy complaining about things and issues that are not important. By focusing on the negative we do a disservice to ourselves and to those to whom we should be thankful for.

Having lived in Marina Del Rey for about almost ten years, these demographics did not surprise me....
The beach community is mostly a renter community. People from all over the Globe want to live close to the Pacific Ocean, unfortunately their budget does not permit it. Hence some great business people recognized it 30+ years ago and took a risk in building a great many rental buildings and communities. Now with that said their risk had its rewards.

Just to give you a little background: I have been one of the early proponents of the Bike Share Program when politicians were studying them in Beverly Hills, CA and Santa Monica, CA. I have written way back then about the foolish waste of money and time that both local governments were about to spend when all they had to do was look at the feasibility study that Boston, MA did way before and were already implementing it successfully.

The Blue Herons in Marina Del Rey, CA inspite of the Developer's trimming of the nesting place of the Blue Herons in Marina Del Rey, CA, (which I might add is against the law when the Herons are mating and nesting....) the Blue Herons decided to return to the same tree and rebuild the knocked down nests and are raising their new born!!!
