Century City and Westwood are considered amongst the most desirable communities. When we look at neighborhoods in Los Angeles, we tend to lump them together for convenience and real estate purposes. Especially when we look at Real Estate we focus on sections of Los Angeles and we try to compartmentalize them. Century City/ Westwood is a great example. In my opinion this approach should be adjusted, there should be a separate discussion about Century City. Great news: The Fires by the Getty Center are 100% contained! A fast moving fire started on Friday around 3:30pm east of the Getty Center but very near. Rush hour traffic on the 405 FWY on both directions was virtually at a standstill. The fires spread to 30 acres, then 40 and as of Saturday the fires engulfed about 90 acres of hillside. It was one of the hottest days of the year around 102 degrees Fahrenheit.
It is truly amazing the hard work the Los Angeles Fire Fighters conducted with Air Support dropping water by the millions of gallons. … (8 comments)
I have decided to give a little Geographical clarification for my readers who are not familiar with Century City. The actual site is about 176 acres of residential and commercial properties on the Westside of Los Angeles. The boundaries are Westwood on the west Beverly Hills on the north east and Cheviot Hills and Beverlywood on the southeast. That is the true geographical Century City. Century City Condominium Market Report for May 2010. As we look at the snapshot from May1st 2010 to May 31st, 2010, we will notice that there were 277 Condominiums on the market for sale. This is an increase of approximately 9% from the previous month. I find this very beneficial; it will allow buyers to have a larger selection to choose from. The gap between the super rich is widening and it is very clear. The highest priced condominium on the market is a Penthouse on Wilshire Boulevard; the asking price is $19,000,000.00. Here is my continuation of the Century City Market Report Part #2 (the 2009 year end summary) The numbers are very interesting, many people do not understand why this occured. I suspect since the bankes were encouraged to do more short sales in lieu of foreclosures, this in turn created a demand by buyers and at the same time prevented a larger drop in the prices.
The number of Condominiums in Escrow are up by 56% compared to December 2008. Hence I do not anticipate any large drop in price nor demand for the next few months.

The Condominium Market Report for the month of November in Century City is very telling. Please look at the numbers closely. The trend is very interesting. Next month I will do a full comparision month to month year over year. Be on the look out for it. I will include charts as well for eye appeal.
