Do YOU have the COURAGE to look at this photograph?

In 1994, Kevin Carter won the Pulitzer Prize for this photograph...depicting a starving child crawling toward a United Nation's food camp...located one kilometer away. When Carter happened upon the child, he waited quietly to get the best shot of the vulture that was waiting for the child to die. After taking the photo, he scared the vulture away and left the scene. He did not help the child...did not go for help...did not do anything except take his photo.

Thanksgiving Day has passed...and Christmas is just around the corner! IF you are like me, December is the busiest month of the year. There is so much to do: SO many gifts to purchase...SO many decorations to hang...SO many parties to attend...SO much food to cook and eat! In the words of our beloved Christmas carol..."it's the most wonderful time of the year!"
As we enjoy ALL of the warmth and happiness of the season, please let us take a few minutes to remember our brave men and women who are serving our country. Whether we personally know anyone serving in the military or not, we owe them … (28 comments)

In this season of giving and sharing...I want to remind all of us of some simple and inexpensive ways we can 'give back' for all the blessings we have been given.

1. YOU CAN sponsor a desperately poor child. We've all seen the commercials on tv and turned our heads...not wanting to look into their eyes. It is so easy to make a difference. For less than the cost of an average restaurant meal, you can care for a child for one MONTH! (YOUR COST: $35)
