It's Raining Men - 08/30/10 06:24 PM
This is part of a post that one of my friends Susan Jones wrote Sunday. It was so funny that I just had to share. I live in a small, 100 year-old Craftsman cottage in Columbia Tennessee. Taking it easy Saturday afternoon, I was in the front room watching the second season of Mad Men on DVD with one puppy in my lap and one dozing at my feet. It was raining with lots of thunder and lightning. In fact, I don't know why I didn't turn off the TV and move away from the windows because besides hearing the thunder, it was (2 comments)

Nashville Home Sales for Week Ending August 20th - 08/26/10 04:34 PM
Nashville Homes sold week ending August 20th are somewhat disappointing considering the great sales we had in April and May. In a lot of ways it's totally predictable that this would happen with the ending of the tax credit and the high unemployment numbers. But it's still hard to believe that people would pay rent when they can live in a home of their own in Nashville for less money. Here are the statistics for the week ending August 20th. 15658 Nashville homes are available for purchase 420 homes were sold in Nashville 1571 Nashville homes are pending sales the average price of (0 comments)

Franklin, is proud of their school system, and they should be. Based of the TCAP scores publish by the Tennessee department of education, all of these schools rank above the state average, and considerably higher than it's neighbor to the north, Davidson county schools. If you have a child who is starting to enter school, read this closely, and prepare your next home purchase with your childs education in mind. Questions about Franklin - 08/16/10 11:47 AM
Franklin home trends are somewhat of a mystery to people new to the area. A very nice couple stopped by my open house yesterday, and during the discussion, I realized that they had no idea what the local market was like, or how to find what they really wanted. Of course the didn't have a buyer agent, and for someone trying to relocate, that's a major mistake. Good for me, but still surprising. So let me go through the criteria. They wanted a new 2 story home with at least 1/2 an acre lot in Franklin, or at least very close. Most of (5 comments)

Franklin Schools - 08/14/10 08:33 AM
Franklin school rankings - as a realtor, I get this question a lot by parent who want to move their children into the best school they can find or afford, I have been consistent with my answer, and here it is. First thing is to start at the top and work your way down. Most parents focus on the elementary schools, but I think that's the wrong approach. I believe the end result always shows up at the high school level, because the elementary schools are too inconsistent in the way they test students and record progress. Middle schools are a little (0 comments)

Crockett Springs - A Slice of Tennessee History - 08/12/10 10:03 PM
Brentwood tn - The clubhouse of Nashville Golf and Athletic center was originally built in the 1700's by Davy Crocketts family? It's hard to believe that part of this beautiful 10,000 square ft clubhouse is over 200 years old. In 1786, Andrew Crockett, an uncle of the famous woodsman Davy Crockett, received a land-grant deed to 640 acres and had chosen the site for their new home. Part of the original Crockett home has been restored as the library of the clubhouse.
