As we approach Veteran's Day (Nov. 11), I felt the need to pass on some information about VA loans that many people are not aware of. As a veteran, and a VA Home Loan participant, I believe one of the greatest things the country has done for veterans, is the VA Guaranteed Loan Program.
One of the little known portions of recent housing changes was Public Law 110-389, the Veterans' Benefits Improvement Act of 2008.
This law does three things:

oregon washington california: FHA 203k Streamline Limited Repair Program, Great for Bank Owned Properties - 10/20/08 01:18 PM
FHA 203(k) Streamline is not what you expect when you hear 203(k). It is not the cumbersome program of old that required a consultant, nor does it require a general contractor. There are limits as to what can be done with the program, but overall, it is great for those "fixer-uppers" that need some cosmetic repair to make it work. MAJOR POINT: it is only for owner occupied properties.
