Is there anything wrong with just wanting to be a part time agent?
It’s not like they are a drain on resources or demand an unreasonable share of leads and coaching.

There are a group of licensed sales people who just want to hang their licenses and be ready to help whomever they come across! I say, what’s wrong with that?

A full time agent vs part time is based on production, not hours sitting the office gossiping. I know a number of agents who spend hours and hours to produce one sale, and I know many “part timers” that are able to put several deals a year together by just focusing on their own sphere of influence. Why should the part time agent be tagged with a lower split or get less respect in the industry because they perhaps work another full time job?

As a Broker for many years, I have found that sometimes less really is more. Sometimes a part time agent can move a deal from start to finish as well or better than an agent who handles several deals a month. With less distractions, maybe the part timer is more focused, not in such a rush to move to the next lead or deal, and gives their clients a bit more attention. The client is always going to stick to the agent that worked the deal with a conscientious eye and gave them plenty of personal attention. By not being over-committed, it may be the part timer who is present at the home inspection, doesn’t pawn off the paperwork on the attorney, and shows his support by being present at the closing.

Reputation is great advertisement. I am happy to work with part time agents at RRG, and, in fact, I welcome them.
