So since it is Monday I thought I would get back to my motivational Monday posts and write about what I feel is an inspirational article. There are a lot of positive things about the current real estate market showcased. Of course they mention a little gloom but I like to focus on the positive! Looks like the market is definately showing signs of improvement. I encourage you to go out and get your buyers to take advantage of these record low mortgage interest rates!

Mortgage Rates Record Lows Julie Schmit of USA Today just posted an article called "Mortgage rates fall to new record lows." The great news it that mortgage rates are at record lows. To be exact they haven't been this low in about 60-years! Although some feel that interest rates have decreased because economic growth has declined recently the housing market still shows signs of improvement. According to the National Association of Realtors existing home sales are up 5.2% in March from last year. Other signs the real estate market is improving is a smaller decline in home prices and signs of bottoming in some markets. Trulia data showed a 2% rise in asking prices on homes for sale from February through April, compared to prior months. This is due to a stronger demand and tighter inventories. 92 out of the 100 of the largest metro areas in the USA showed price increases according to Trulia. The Mortgage Bankers Association said that the demand for loans is also up. These mortgage rates at record lows mean that now is the time to buy! Freddie Mac expects rates to rise later this year so you don't want to continue waiting to buy a home. Thinking of refinancing? Now is the perfect time to do that as well!
