Fort Hunt Road is surrounded by several neighborhoods with high-income families and many choices for different personalities. Each neighborhood has it’s own characteristics and activities to choose from. Below is an outline of some of these neighborhoods:

The Pie Social was a big hit with members of the Alexandria Fun with Friends group. Members pitched in to bring pies and a supporting cast of whipped cream, milk, coffee and teas. The group relaxed with a few games and chatted the evening away. I tried to taste them all but there were just too many and they were just too good. I definitely look forward to the next time around with this one.

We'll miss her ... The Martha Washington Library is definitely one of the features and benefits of living in and around the 22307 area code. Martha Washington serves houses and townhouses of Bucknell Manor, the adorable garden-style condos of Belle View, the scenic condos at River Towers, the manors and homes of Belle Haven and homes and families of Fort Hunt with a broad selection of books and media. The Mount Vernon Rec Center is located at the intersection of Fort Hunt Road, Beacon Hill Road and Belle View Boulevard. The rec center sits at the foot of a steep hill (which is actually an important geological feature) on county land at the Mount Vernon District Park. Because of this hill, the rec center has two parking lots terraced into the hill at higher elevations.
The rec center itself is a steel-framed warehouse style structure that is brightened by a wall of glass on the western face.

The George Washington Memorial Parkway, often called the GW Parkway by locals, meanders through parks on both sides of the road and is usually within close proximity to and sight of the Potomac River. The US Park Service maintains this and all parkways. Parkways are designed to be scenic meandering roads with light traffic. Despite finding a path through the most urban parts of Northern Virginia, the GW Parkway largely accomplishes these goals.

Belle View condominiums were built in the late forties just outside Old Town Alexandria VA, in a section of Fairfax County which is often called "New Alexandria". In the early 80's these apartments were sold as condominiums. Today there are 980 units on 56 acres comprising the Belle View Condominium Association. Belle View has both advantages and drawbacks and life here is not for everyone, but it is a wonderful neighborhood and a great place to live.
