Wow! We know it is a very interesting and exciting time in the real estate market.
As of August 1 to August 27, there were 19 homes which closed escrow in Altadena. 5 homes sold over the list price, 1 sold at 100% asking, and rest sold at 94% or above. So who says homes are not selling? There are really great deals out there.

Fire season came much earlier than we expected. With temperture rising above 90 degrees in the San Gabriel Valley, there were incident of fires in Sierra Madre, the Santa Anita Fire.
Are you ready? I live near the Altadena Foothills on north of Marengo Avenue and Altadena Drive. Last year, while I was driving back hom, I saw a thick smoke in the NW Altadena area. ROSES AND ROSE, BEAUTIFUL ROSES.
Altadena has beautiful views of the San Gabriel Mountains, and now, the roses are breathtaking.
Now that spring is here and summer coming along, I have seen so many beautiful flowers, especially roses in many homes. As I drive along Altadena Drive, up Marengo Avenue, I encounters these magnificent roses.
Other great locations to check out the blooming flowers are the Huntington Library and the Descanso Gardens.

SUMMER IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER - GET READY FOR THE SUMMER CONCERT SERIES.
Farnsworth Park located in Altadena, CA at 568 E. Mount Curve Ave. offer concerts during the summer months.
The first concert is scheduled on June 14 Saturday.
The Altadena Sheriff's Station and the LA County Deparment of Parks and Recreation host the concerts and at NO COSTS to the public.
The Altadena Sheriff's Station which is located at 780 E. Altadena Drive, aside of overseeing public safety in the community, they have hosted number of events in Halloween and Christmas.

It's not Christmas yet, but we know how fast a year goes by, right?
In Altadena, there is a street call the Christmas Tree Lane where each year, a "Lighting Ceremony" is held in December.
Christmas Tree Lane is located between Altadena Drive and Woodbury Road on Santa Rosa Avenue.
In 1886, the Woodbury Family who were the founders of Altadena planted 134 deodar trees on this lane which would lead to the entrance of the mansion which were in plan to be built. Well, the home was never built but the trees grew and grew, and "housed" the Santa Rosa Ave.

There are definitely homes selling quickly, and it only tells us that, if a home is PRICED RIGHT and the consumer SEE THE HOME VALUE, it is going to sell fast. It may even bring MULTIPLE OFFERS.

I recently wrote about the San Gabriel Mountains and Janes Village in Altadena, CA. Pictures obviously speaks more than thousands of words, so here are few pictures of my neighborhood, San Grabriel Mountain and the cottages located in Janes Village. Altadena is minutes from Old Town Pasadena, very fashionable area with new condo & shopping/retail stores. Being in Altadena, you can enjoy the quiet, nature, and a bit rusticness. And if you want the city life, it's 5 or so minutes away!

Do you like gardening? Flowers? How about azaleas and camellias?
Now that spring is arriving, I see many homes being dressed up with colorful flowers. Did you know that there is a famous nursery of growers and hybridizers of azaleas and camellias in Altadena? Nuccio's Nurseries overlooks the San Gabriel Valley from Chaney Trail. The nursery has been around since 1935 in Altadena. WOW, who knew. This special location happens to be the only remaining commercial grower in Altadena.

Pending CDOM (cumulative days on market) = 141 days
Back up offer (DOM) = 35 days

Beautiful Altadena.
Just north of Pasadena is a great city called Altadena. Until the recent real estate boom, I have a feeling that many people did not know much about Altadena. We knew it was there, just few minutes from Pasadena. However, there are many attractive sites that makes Altadena living a joy.
To begin, you have the wonderful San Gabriel Mountains. On a clear day, it is absolutely breathtaking to see the mountains surrounding the community. The two golf courses are also a place to be on a nice day. Both courses are 9 holes, so you can catch up on the game … (20 comments)
