     A very interesting article today in the Grand Rapids Press: "Stop your whining, church says".  It seems that a local Unity Church  has embraced the concept of a "Complaint-Free World" campaign that was started by the Rev. Will Bowen of the Kansas City Christ Church Unity. 
     In the nearly 2-years since the beginning of the program, the Kansas City church has received almost 6,000,000 requests for  the purple bracelets that they provide for free.  Donations are welcome, but not required.

It wasn't that many years ago that in addition to the 1st run movie houses in Grand Rapids, we had the Movies of North Kent (now a car dealer), The Movies at Woodland (since torn down and replaced with what was then Cinemark Theatre) and Alpine. All featured 2nd run movies at discount prices. 
They all closed and their sites have been redeveloped into some non-movie use. 
But recently, the owners of Celebration Cinema and Studio 28 bought both the Cinemark Locations (Woodland Mall and Rivertown Crossings) and to my delight, Woodland is going to feature INDY films and 2nd run … (1 comments)

We had an interesting company meeting last week.  Our guest speaker was Ralph Roberts, and as always he was interesting, informative and provided a strong nudge that will cause me to take another, closer look to the way I do business.  Always a good thing.

Santa's Semi Scheduled for the trip to Pine Ridge Reservation - 08/17/07 06:59 AM
The RavenWolf Foundation is organizing their annual truckload of love to be delivered to the Lakota Nation Reservation at Pine Ridge in South Dakota.  Karen and I had the pleasure of being a small part of this effort last year and are looking forward to playing  part this year.
Gainey Transportation has once again donated the use of a tractor/trailer.  They are also paying Mr. and Mrs. Claus (the truck-driver and his wife), Jim and Helen.  They drove last year and were so moved by the experience that they specifically asked to become the 'official' drivers for this wonderful run.

ARMS, Short Sales and Foreclosures, OH MY! - 08/14/07 08:43 PM
While I try to approach eveything in a constructive and positive way, there are some topics that make maintaining that positive outlook more difficult. 
Several of those areas are becoming are regular part of my professional life.  It seems that almost every week, I have a meeeting with someone who wants to sell their home, but owe more than it's worth, or have had a change of situation and are having trouble keeping up with their payment, or took out an adjustable rate mortgage and as the rate has adjusted, they are finding their new payment is beyond their reach.
