4th of july: 4th of July Parade on High Street in Pottstown Pennsylvania... - 07/04/11 06:39 PM

This parade was probably happening on "Main Street" USA everywhere today. At least, I'd like to think so. This community event is so uplifting and inspiring...walking down the street; carrying your chairs searching for that perfect spot in the shade to see all the local bands and fire trucks coming down the street. All the way greeting those friends and neighbors that you hardly ever see anymore. It is such a wonderful tradition that my hometown has embraced~ I've loved this day for over 30 years and each year more grandchildren join in the tradition...

4th of july: Pictures at Pottstown's 30th Annual 4th of July Festivities - 07/05/08 06:43 PM

Let me start my photo show of our soggy, yet very exciting beginning to the 4th of July festivites; the traditional parade! These two very attractive people above are my daughter, Megan and my grandson, Ashton under the required umbrella awaiting the beginning of the parade. Although, it wasn't quite the same with the steady rainfall...I have to say the beautiful array of umbrellas did add a unique look to the day!

How about this contraption? We couldn't tell if it was a motorcycle or a car! Personally, I think it looks like a new age Batmobile!
