After long negotiations, The City of Prospect has agreed to pay just over $700,000 for 25 acres behind city hall in Prospect. Putney Pond that is on the property is about 4 arces. They are buying the land from Steve Cox, a local developer, to keep it as green-space and a possible future park for Prospect. About half of the money to buy the land will come from a state grant Prospect got back in 2006.
