Wanna Take Me Home? - 04/28/08 07:05 PM
Clearly you're cute, witty, and socially presentable.
Me, too.
So how ‘bout it? Let's get together!
I'm talking about sharing a Motivation-tini, and it's totally on me. Never had one? It's delish!
It's got some side effects. It causes feelings of excitement. Sometimes it makes people do things they never thought of doing. It gets the juices flowing, and makes you want to splurge on flowers.
Okay, let's get real. I can't give you a Motivation-tini.
But I can give you a Teeny-Motivation.
A push in the right direction.... Inspiration for the uninspired... A Vision...

COLOR TREND SPOTTERS NEEDED! - 04/27/08 03:06 PM
Hi Everyone,
I am in need of input, from people who feel they are Color Trend-Spotters from the US. & Canada to help me with a workshop I am creating to be conducted in Canada. It will include participants from both countires.
The topic of the workshop is The Regionality of Exterior Color Preferences.
I am seeking information on what you see as the most popular EXTERIOR color scheme preferences are in your neck of the woods. This information is to be complied and shared at the CSP Convention 2009, to encourage and enhance their awareness of the importance of Curb Appeal.
I have several experts working with me on … (12 comments)

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GET A MUTT-HOUSE?!!! - 04/24/08 10:59 PM
MUTT-HOUSE????
It's not often that I come across a house that is a mutt, but I got one this week.
This house is a lakehouse, and this is the back-side, that leads to a pier and dock.
The owner wanted a fun color scheme all, around as it is a vacation home, and really wanted to keep her red front door. The front of the house is Acadian-Style, which is a HUGE thing here in Louisiana. I don't know if it is elsewhere in North America.
The front was in pretty good shape, but the back was a doozy. While the front was classic Acadian-inspired architecture (steep, … (9 comments)

STAGING IS NOT FOR EVERYONE! - 04/21/08 04:01 PM
STAGING IS NOT FOR EVERYONE!
Not all homeowners require recuperating all their equity with expediency.
Many sellers can afford to wait for a bid that is in line with what their asking price is, or they are willing to heavily negotiate.
That is why I choose not to target clients who fall into the above category.
My personal crusade with our Staging business is to truly make the endeavor to sell a house as lucrative an experience as possible for the homeowner that desperately needs every cent of their equity quickly.
We market to the "average" homeowner, where their house is their major asset, and losing a grip on … (6 comments)

DRESSING THE RANCH - Curb Appeal Advice For Ranch-Style Houses - 04/13/08 04:55 AM
Despite dozens of books and articles hailing the distinctive architectural history and extremely functional layout of the typical ranch-style house, many owners of these horizontal slices of Americana seem ashamed & disdainful of the lineage of their very own homes.
Sometimes referred to as "California Ramblers", and "Ranch-Burgers", the post-WWII Ranch-Style House, by some estimates, comprises 70% of houses built between 1945 and 1970.  By my own estimate, I'd venture to guess that 99% of the owners of these houses wish their homes were a different architectural style.
Addressing curb-appeal issues and advising exterior paint colors for our clientele is what we love to sink … (22 comments)
