Computer Blues - 04/30/07 11:00 AM
Well we just got back and I have to say that even though it was a remarkable time, I am glad to be back. It really was not as difficult to not be by a computer or cell phone for a few days but next time I may just hit up the Internet cafe once or twice. I ran into some other real Estate Professionals and we had a few nice conversations. I have to unpack now Thanks for looking and I will be posting some things later. Later! JD (1 comments)
Road less traveled - 04/27/07 03:48 AM
Back again. I spoke earlier of being gone for a few days. actually I will be on a mini vacation, 3 days stuck on a boat off the coast of Mexico. I know a lot of you out there would really like to be steaming off to a far away land but to me I prefer the more out of the way places, I am doing this for someone else and to see if I like the idea of a cruise. Now for all of you who prefer the road less traveled I have attached a link to a website that can (1 comments)
Time out - 04/27/07 03:36 AM
Hey all out there in Blog land. I am going to be out and about till Monday without a computer to spill my guts out to (this is going to kill me!!!) I will survive and I will be back for more lively blather Monday evening. Until then have a productive weekend and keep smiling. (1 comments)
Tip of the Day....Farming - 04/27/07 02:40 AM
Commentary to come, we had a discussion this week (every week) regarding farming and it holds true in good and in challenging markets that the best way to find and keep clients is to farm. In our office I believe that we have more agents than most other offices including our other First Team offices that actually go out and wear out shoe leather. I know for sure of two agents in our office that preview a minimum of 30 houses a week and walk their farm two to three times a week. although at this time they have nothing on (3 comments)
Spelling and Grammar - 04/24/07 09:27 PM
I have been looking over the postings I have done and it has occurred to me that I owe everyone an apology. It seems that I have found a new medium in which to butcher the English language. Now I know there is such a thing as spell check and it really should be my best friend....but what can I say. I get really excited about writing and sharing the thoughts that pop into my head at any given moment and lucky for you I am usually not by a computer so you only get snippets of the things that flow (4 comments)
Wyatt the wonder dog - 04/24/07 08:39 PM
Just in case any of you are wondering about the dog in the picture, that is Wyatt. That particular picture was taken when he was almost 3 months old and 24lbs. He is a Boxer mix, mix with what I have no clue either does the Vet. Wyatt is now 5 1/2 months old and 46lbs. so just in case any of you were wondering there you go. I attached a better picture of him taken on 3-6-07. (0 comments)
Fun and Games - 04/23/07 05:00 PM
Hi all, I was sitting here after spending most of the day at the office thinking about a few things. one of the things that came to mind was that if you are doing this thing right you probably have very little time for the family, friends and any kind of a social life. let me clarify this, in the beginnig of your career you have no life. I thought about this because yesterday we went with a friend (our managing broker) on one of his days of fun in the sun. Now he has always reminded us that he started with (1 comments)
Tip for the Day - 04/22/07 07:28 AM
I know we all like to think of ourselves as independent contractors and in a way we are. However what Henry Ford said all those years ago hold true today and in every business that wants to stay in business let alone grow. So think about those words the next time you have a problem client, if you can satisfy them even if they are particular and make them happy with the level of professionalism and knowledge you can rest assured they will give you referrals. If one of the friends calls you and says "if you can make so and so happy then his word (6 comments)
Shelters Right Hand - 04/22/07 12:42 AM
Hi all, today was the 11th annual 5K walk for a really worthy cause. I will spare you the lengthy dialog this time (it's late and I am tired) but I wanted to post just a few pictures of this great event. I will be posting more as I go trough them but I am sure you get the idea as to what a great event this was and how honored we all were to be a part of it. (1 comments)
From time to time I will be posting a tip of the day, not everyday mind you but from time to time. Some may be humorous and some kinda serious but all have a message that we as real estate professionals should really stop and think about. Now even though I am new to this Blog thing the people who have tuned in more than likely have figured out that I have a twisted sense of humor. I am serious about what I do and I do my best to make sure that my clients understand I do know what I (4 comments)
Work hard and have fun doing it! - 04/20/07 12:44 AM
I have been told many things about Real Estate and how we just sign a contract and wait for our BMW payment to come rolling in. The perception that most people have of us is just that, they feel we are all just interchangeable parts that don't work for our money. Well as most of you know we work out tail off and when a deal closes all the people see is the big smile on our face. Of course we have a big smile on our face we just worked 16 hour days, calling following up, mailing and let me (3 comments)
Blogs in general - 04/18/07 06:38 PM
Okay, it has been a whole three hours and nobody has bothered to post a comment on my blog. Actually I am kidding about that but I do want to make sure whoever logs on and reads this dribble understands that it will contain valuble information and links to some pretty cools sites. (5 comments)
My blog is a combination of humorous rants and serious commentary. I will rarely be posting articles but on occasion there may be one of interest. I will at times post some tips that may or may not be something to think about. but mostly it will be what is on my mind at the time.
