Seabridge Marina and Marketplace

The transformation is outstanding...really something that has to be seen.  Seabridge is located about 60 miles North of Los Angeles, halfway between Malibu and Santa Barbara on the beautiful California Gold Coast.  The Seabridge Marina is an extension of the Channel Islands Harbor with the gorgeious Channel Islands located just off our coastline.   The Channel Islands is a group of islands which were once the home of the Chumash Indians and are now a National Park.  Great place to visit.

 Seabridge now has two new islands, Coral and Shell Islands.  Shell Island is a gated community of single family homes and Coral Island, which is also gated, has both single family homes and condominiums as well as the Fitness Center and Clubhouse for the Seabridge Community.

Single family homes start at around 2400 square feet and go up to 3600 square feet.  The condominiums start at 1700 square feet and go up to 2100 square feet.  The condominiums are all 3 story "flats" with common secure parking under the building.  All of the single family homes have either 2 or 3 car garages attached.

Now is a great time to buy with the builder offering some close out specials.  Call me for more information on pricing and availability, as it is constantly changing.

 

This new area of Mandalay Bay at Channel Islands is growing by leaps and bounds.  Coral Island, which is a new island created for a gated community with condos and single family homes is just about completed.  The clubhouse, which houses the fitness center as well is about to be opened. Most homes are sold and the developer (D.R. Horton) is about to release the condos for sale.  Prices for the marina view condos range from approx. $800,000 - $1,000,000.  There are still some condos available just off the island.  Those prices range from approximately $600,000 to $900,000.

The Seabridge Marketplace is becoming the place to meet all of your friends and neighbors.  Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf with the courtyard overlooking the boat basin has become the morning, afternoon and evening place to enjoy your caffeine boost of choice.   The Marketplace is also home to the new Re/Max Beach and Marina office

The harbor expansion continues with the completion of Shell Island where  D. R. Horton is now selling single family homes with boat docks.  Prices start at $1,299,000.

The Marina Village Shopping Center is scheduled to begin construction in June.  We will have a Seabridge Bistro, Workout Center and Yolanda's Mexican Restaurant.

Well, here we are in mid-September.  The inventory is gowing by leaps and bounds. There are very few sellers who are undertanding the message.  Those that do are reducing their prices and selling.

We have new condos and single family homes both with and without boat docks being constructed in a new marina.   Huge harbor expansion taking place.  The interesting thing is that with all of the advertising done by the builders we are seeing many new buyers who are just being introduced to the area.  This brings a whole new dimension to the scenario.   We will see how it is going to effect our inventory and pricing!!

 

   Located next to The Whale's Tail Restaurant on Harbor Blvd, (West side of the Harbor) the boating instruction and safety center (bisc) will provide boating and marine education to residents of ventura county.  Programs will be provided by California State University - Channel Islands along with the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary and the County of Ventura, among others.  The BISC will offer beginning and intermediate sailing, kayaking, diving, boating safety, as well as other educational programming.

On July 3, 2006, the channel islands harbor foundation received a letter from the martin v. and martha k. smith foundation offering a contribution of $1,000,000 toward the construction of the bisc.  This generous gift will allow the construction of the BISC to stay on schedule, to the benefit of residents of ventura county.  Martin v. ("bud") Smith was a major developer in channel islands harbor, having developed the casa sirena hotel, fisherman's wharf, the anchorage, villa sirena, and bahia cabrillo apartments, and the boat slips adjacent to these properties.  After developing the properties in the 1960's and 70's, bud retained ownership for many years, until 1996.  In addition to developing properties, bud was an active boater, living and keeping his boat in channel islands harbor until his death in 2001.  His energy, humor, and optimism were a great contribution to those who worked with him.  his generosity to his friends and employees is well known.  Now, resources from the foundation named for him and his wife, martha, will continue to generate opportunity for all those in the community who benefit from the BISC.  The terms of the grant call for the facility to be named the channel islands harbor boating instruction and safety center in perpetuity, and for a display in the lobby thanking the foundation and honoring martin v. "bud" smith. 

 

There are new hotels moving into the harbor, new restaurants, a new marina and shopping center is under construction.

The first of the new restaurants has just opened.  Seaside Grill located at Harbor Landing on Harbor Blvd.  Thie is a charming Persian restaurant.  The owner has done a wonderful job with the decor.  It is all new and what great food!  A definite asset to our harbor.

Seaside Grill is open 7 days a week from 11 AM to 3 PM for lunch and from 5 PM to 9 PM for dinner.

 

 

I just spoke with someone who found me by putting my name into Google for a search.  It immediately came up.  This individual contacted me through Active Rain.  It works!!

The Channel Islands Harbor is being updated.  There is a new master plan currently being submitted to the Coastal Commission.  A promedande is being proposed to link all of the western side of the harbor.  Every venue is being updated.  Exciting times.  We will be posting new information as it becomes available.
 

The Channel Islands Beach Community Services District is providing FREE wi fi to the beach area at Channel Islands Harbor (located halfway between Malibu and Santa Barbara).  The area includes Hollywood Beach, Silverstrand Beach, Oxnard Shores (Mandalay Shores), HarborWalk at Hollywood Beach and The Colony at Mandalay.

We are noticing a definite increase in inventory and of course with that properties are on the market longer.

We are starting to see sellers reduce their prices.

With all of the new building that is taking place in the marina, the beach properties are seeing quite an influx of new buyers.  So, it should be interesting to see what happens to the market.
