Driftwood- Old South St Petersburg - 04/26/08 06:05 PM
Driftwood is part of OLD SOUTH ST PETERSBURG. It is unique, charming, funky and located directly on Tampa Bay. The streets in this community have large old oaks forming an umbrella over them. It is a wonderful area to take a walk at anytime of the day or early evening. I love to walk here whenever I visit my good friend, Natalie, who lives in this wonderful area of south St Petersburg.
A couple of years ago I lived here with Natalie for a few months while I was in transition from one location to another. I got to know the area … (2 comments)

Practice What You Preach - 04/25/08 11:03 AM
Here is another one of those e-mails that I get all the time. It is an excellent example of saying one thing and doing exactly the opposite, so I wanted to share.
After reading it, think about it.....does the shoe fit? Do you preach one thing and then do something else??? We all need to be mindful of our actions.
"A man was being tailgated by a stressed out woman on a busy boulevard. Suddenly, the light turned yellow, just in front of him. He did the right thing, stopping at the crosswalk, even though he could have beaten the red light … (3 comments)

Women Who Think Are Dangerous - (joke) - 04/24/08 01:56 PM
I received this in e-mail format today from a friend and thought it was cute enough to share here on AR:
One morning the husband returns after several hours of fishing and decides to take a nap. Although not familiar with the lake, the wife decides to take the boat out. She motors out a short distance, anchors, and reads her book. Along comes a Game Warden in his boat. He pulls up alongside the woman and says, 'Good morning, Ma'am. What are you doing?' 'Reading a book,' she replies, (thinking, 'Isn't that obvious?') 'You're in a Restricted Fishing Area,' he informs … (3 comments)

"Weed" verses "Bud" - 04/24/08 10:21 AM
"Weed" verses "Bud" - Here is one that shows once again that in this country MONEY TALKS!
Seems there is a a little company in California that brews beer and has given their beer the name "Weed". Well, it is the town name, so what is the big deal? Their bottle caps read "Try Legal Weed" - we all know where this is going, but does anyone really think there is marijuana in the bottle? Give me a break!
Well, the Feds have told the owner of the company to stop bottling! His argument is that Anheuser-Busch has "Bud" beer, which is … (6 comments)

Should Renters Contact The Lender???? - 04/24/08 09:01 AM
Should renters ever contact the lender? I was on the phone last night with a friend. We were discussing a situation that we know of. A renter that we both know is living in a home that is being foreclosed on. The owner stopped paying the bank about 6 months ago, as so many other owners have. The renter knows the place is being foreclosed on and has started looking for another rental to move to.
My friend made an interesting comment last night. He said: "Barb, they should contact the lending bank (they received a copy of the paperwork concerning the … (4 comments)

Would Love To List Your Home, BUT................... - 04/03/08 08:19 PM
We went out on a pre-listing presentation today. This sweet little old lady had asked us to come by and look at her home and tell her whether or not we thought we could list it. We drove up to her home in St Petersburg after cruising the neighborhood for a few minutes.
There are several homes in her 55+ community on the market. The homes are small, perfect for the older couple that is downsizing. This lady had been in her home for 15 years. It had been paid for in cash, but had been mortgaged a couple of years ago................for … (5 comments)

"Internal Server Error" - ??? - 04/01/08 06:33 PM
This afternoon as I was busy posting away and commenting on other people's posts I suddenly got the message "INTERNAL SERVER ERROR"! I tried everything to get back into ActiveRain - I refreshed the screen, closed the window and started all over again............I did everything but stand on my head..............to no avail!
What happened ActiveRain Gods??? I am assuming that everyone else experienced it too. So what was it???
Glad we are back up and running! It gets lonely out there without ActiveRain!!! Gosh, I am addicted to this place!

Gotta Love Catholic Schools (JOKE) - 04/01/08 06:23 PM
Little Zachary was doing very badly in math. His parents had tried everything: tutors, mentors, flash cards, special learning centers.   In short, everything they could think of to help his math. Finally, in a last ditch effort, they took Zachary down and enrolled him in the local Catholic school. After the first day, little Zachary came home with a very serious look on his face.   He didn't even kiss his mother hello.   Instead, he went straight to his room and started studying.   Books and papers were spread out all over the room and little Zachary was hard at work. His mother was amazed.  … (0 comments)
