What should a home inspection include??? I have been asked this question time and again. I always tell my clients that there are certain basics that should be included, such as:
-STRUCTURAL inspection of the roof, gutters, foundation
-EXTERIOR inspection of the walls, doors, windows, driveway
-HEATING & COOLING inspection of the AC unit and the ducts
-PLUMBING inspection of the fixtures, drainage, water heater
-GARAGE inspection of the garage door, insulation, frame
-ELECTRICAL inspection of the main panel, switches, receptacles
And the additional optional inspections such as MOLD, POOLS, SPAS, DOCKS, SEAWALLS. I also provide them with a list of several inspectors and tell them that it … (5 comments)

Palm Harbor citizens can celebrate the fact that the city is bringing reclaimed water to more homes! The city is laying pipes Belcher and US 19 (east-west boundaries) and Alderman and CR 39 (east-west boundaries) to expand the area already benefiting from being able to water their lawns and shrubs with reclaimed water.
The additional eight miles of pipes is costing the city $1.5 million, but it is a project that we desperately need as we see our local water shortages increasing and drought conditions not improving. This is something that needs to be expanded throughout the county!

Pools are definitely a must in Florida! Granted, we have the beaches here and some of the most beautiful beaches in the world can be found right here in the Sunshine State, but a home without a pool is almost like a car without a motor!!!
Floridians are spoiled! We need big, beautiful swimming pools! And from what I have been learning from my pool guy, salt water pools are more popular than ever! A couple of days ago I wrote about Wall Springs Park on DeSoto Blvd in beautiful Palm Harbor and I promised to provide you with some photos soon. Well, here they are!!!
This park has a wonderful spring that used to be open to the public for bathing until the 1960's. Here you can see what remains of the steps for the public to enter the bathing area. The actual spring is enclosed by a circular area and a small waterfalls allows the water to flow out into the lake.

Indian Bluff Island is located west of Palm Harbor and north of Ozona. It is connected to the mainland by a causeway. There was a time in the not too distant past when the island was full of raccoons and mangroves. Now that has all changed and every inch of the island is developed! Everyone wants to have Gulf front property!

This is not your everyday castle...er home! That is for sure! I was driving around Palm Harbor enjoying the afternoon and getting ready to go to a party when I happened to pass this castle! It looked like someone had dismantled it in England and put it back together again right in Palm Harbor!!! I could not believe my eyes!

The Waldorf School in Palm Harbor is holding it's 9th annual fair this weekend! There will be plenty of wonderful organic foods available and local vendors will be selling their unique arts and crafts to start the holiday season! The Palm Harbor Waldorf School is located on Curlew Road, west of Belcher.
Waldorf Schools were started in Stuttgart, Germany by Swiss philosopher Rudolf Steiner almost one hundred years ago. 94% of the student population continue on to university level classes. The system begins with pre-kindergarten play groups and continues on through high school.

Well, my daughter just informed me that we are having the baby's first birthday party at Wall Springs Park in beautiful Palm Harbor! That was when I realized that it would be something to share information about!
Wall Springs Park is a 195 acre park west of Alt 19 in Palm Harbor (on DeSoto Blvd). The park includes an ancient spring that was used as a spa and bathing area from around 1900 until the 1960's.
