Sunset off the coast of Crystal Beach Florida can be a breathtaking experience. I walked down to the seashore on Saturday night to take a few photographs of our stunning sunsets.
I wanted to be able to go early and since the clocks changed time on Sunday, this was my last chance to get a sunset photo at around 6:30 in the evening.
So off I scooted and was pleasantly surprised to see about thirty other people out waiting for that magical moment.

Crystal Beach Florida on a chilly morning in March - yes, you did read that correctly! It is the 5th of March and it went down into the 50's last night!!!
As I ventured out for my morning walk, it was STILL in the 50's.....turtleneck weather for this girl! But even with the chill in the air, it is beautiful to walk our sleepy streets in this Gulf front town............the sun rising in the East, the yards full of blossoms, the birds diving for their breakfast in St Joseph's Sound...........yes, life is good here in Crystal Beach Florida!

Crystal Beach Florida - Spring Is In The Air indeed! I am thrilled each morning when I go for my morning walk along the seashore at the variety of beautiful plants in bloom! The endless variety of colors from Mother Nature's pallet makes me want to share with everyone!
While much of our nation is still experiencing Winter and there are parts covered with snow, we are having a great Spring down here in the Sunshine State.

Orchid trees are in bloom here in Crystal Beach Florida and they are so beautiful that I had to share!
While out taking my morning walk through our little waterfront community, Nikon in hand, I just had to take a few photos of the dozens of orchid trees that are in full bloom!
It never ceases to amaze me, how beautiful life here in Crystal Beach Florida is! Away from the hussle and bussle of the big city and yet within a short drive from Clearwater, St Petersburg and Tampa, Crystal Beach is such a fantastic place to live!

Crystal Beach Florida is indeed enjoying Spring in February! I took my normal early morning stroll through our quiet little village and noticed a lot of fog out over Saint Joseph's Sound.....pretty typical at this time of year and it burns off early!
What is beautiful about being out so early is that the only people I see walking are half a dozen other walkers - the rest of Crystal Beach Florida is either still at the breakfast table (it is before 8 am) or on their way to work already.

Crystal Beach Florida's Waterfront Park on a chilly Sunday in February is something to see.
While the temperature is only going up to the high 60s today, still I had to take my Sunday afternoon walk through the park here in Crystal Beach. A walk in the park is good for the soul. It is quiet and the beauty of Mother Nature is everywhere!

This will be the 9th Annual Silent Auction here in Crystal Beach Florida. The pre-auction preview time is from 3 to 5:30 in the afternoon on Saturday, March 3rd, at the Crystal Beach Community Hall on Crystal Beach Avenue. The hall will then be closed until bidding begins at 6pm.

Crystal Beach Florida Post Office Collects Care Packages To Local Soldiers In Afghanistan....yes, our local town post office is busy collecting items to send overseas to local soldiers that are so far from home.
Pam Hurlburt, our postmistress, found out that we have some local Crystal Beach residents that are currently serving in Afghanistan so she decided to do something positive for them. Pam and long time Crystal Beach postal employee Jo Pichardat are collecting and sending items to our soldiers!

Crystal Beach Florida is indeed a wonderful place to call home. Crystal Beach is a lovely little community on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico. A place where you can get around on your golf cart, Crystal Beach offers million dollar homes with waterfront views and 1950's bungalows that are a couple of blocks from the sparking Gulf waters.

81 degrees here in Crystal Beach Florida today and I just had to brag about it!
I am sitting at the computer in shorts and bare feet. All of the windows and sliding glass doors are open and I am enjoying listening to the birds and squirrels chatter outside my window in the trees.
Blue skies, sunshine and the beautiful shores of the Gulf of Mexico.....that is what best describes Crystal Beach Florida! Come on down, the water is a little chilly for us but those darn Yankees sure do enjoy a dip at this time of year!

Crystal Beach is such a wonderful place to live. I love taking time to walk down to the seashore and just sit and watch the birds while I relax and listen to the waves rolling slowly on shore.
Having grown up in the area, a large part of my life has been spent along the shore, listening to those waves and contemplating life. I really can't think of anything more relaxing to do.

Having spent my early childhood up in Storrs Connecticut, I am SO happy that my parents moved me down to Florida the summer before third grade!
When I was in my early twenties, I moved to Germany for 17 years and loved it there although I DID suffer through the Winter months.

Dunedin Florida's Youth Guild held their 42nd Tour of Homes on Saturday, December 3rd.
The Youth Guild sold tickets for the tour ($20 in advance and $25 on the day of the tour). These funds are used to help students with scholarships. Last year $15000 was donated in the form of scholarships to graduating high school students!
On the tour this year were 5 homes and the 125 year old Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. The Crystal Beach home of Pat and Marty Pehl was on the tour. Built in 1910, this home is one of the homes … (2 comments)

Crystal Beach Florida's December Arts & Crafts Show is taking place this weekend! Both Saturday, December 3rd and Sunday, December 4th are the days for the annual Holiday Arts & Crafts Show.

"Sitting in the morning sun" is indeed what these tropical water turtles seem to be doing.
I passed them this morning and had to stop and take a quick shot. Good thing that I did not waste a lot of time since once they realized I was there, they slid back into the water so quickly that it amazed me! Who knew that turtles could move so fast???
Turtles are not the only sun worshipers down here in the Sunshine State! It is going up to 84 degrees today!!!

Crystal Beach Florida is full of flowers at this time of year and I could not resist sharing some more of the photos that I took yesterday while taking a walk through our community.
This morning we had a band of rain come across the area, so my excercises were done at home. Now the rain has passed and the sun is back out again.
That is typical Florida weather, rain one minute and blue skies with sun the next.

A week before Thanksgiving and it is 82 degrees outside! THAT is what I love about living in Crystal Beach Florida!
This morning I had to get out of bed a little earlier, so I could take my morning walk before it started to get too warm. That is something I wouldn't be able to say if my parents hadn't relocated down to Florida from Connecticut in 1954.
