Three Rooker Island off the coast of Crystal Beach Florida, was our destination for a picnic lunch and an enjoyable couple of hours this past week.
There is nothing like being able to take off for a few hours of rest and relaxation. Packing a picnic lunch and loading everything into the boat doesn't take long and then we are on our way out to Three Rooker. The map below is from Google Maps.

This is the daddy snook, caught off Crystal Beach Florida yesterday! It was 38 inches, too long to keep IF it was in season, which it isn't, so it was a case of photograph and release.
Ronnie loves fishing and yesterday he caught two giant snook, one only two inches smaller than this beauty. That is just one of the advantages of living in the Crystal Beach and Palm Harbor Florida area.

I love living in Crystal Beach Florida and the bottlenose dolphin that wanted to play yesterday is just one more reason why!
Unfortunately, there is no video to go with this since I was on my knees, hanging over the side of the boat. This adult sized bottlenose dolphin had circled the boat several times as he was enjoying his lunch of bait fish. I was having a blast watching him and Ronnie was laughing at me, reminding me that I needed to be careful that I did not fall out of the boat.

Orchid Trees are indeed in full bloom already here in lovely Crystal Beach Florida and while I have not been up to long walks with this cold that seems to go on forever, I did want to share the beauty of the place I live with my friends.

It was another beautiful January day here in Crystal Beach Florida. With temperatures at 70 degrees, blue skies and sunshine, it was indeed a perfect day for a late morning walk.
My phone has been ringing off the hook for people looking for short term rentals here in our area but at this time of year, everything is booked through the end of March. Looking at the average price per square foot of those 21 homes that are currently on the market we come up with $229.60 per sq ft. The most expensive home currently on the market, which is right on the shore of the Gulf of Mexico, has a price tag of $651.32 per sq ft.

Crystal Beach Florida's annual Golf Cart Parade is taking place tomorrow, December 15, 2013. The meeting place is Emily's Restaurant on Alt. 19 and Crystal Beach Avenue. The actual parade will begin at 7pm but everyone is asked to meet at the restaurant by 6:30pm.
So decorate your golf cart with Holiday decorations, put on your Santa hat, decorate your pup if you are taking your furry friend along and come on out and participate in the parade!

Crystal Beach Florida has typical boating weather in December, with high's in the low 80s. This is one of the reasons I love living down here. You can go out on the boat almost year round, with February being the month that we generally get a couple of freezing nights.

Yes, you are indeed reading it correctly, it got up to 83 degrees here in Crystal Beach Florida today and it is already December 5th!
THIS is why we live down here on Florida's Gulf Coast! We can grow many tropical plants that will die in northern Florida, including Plumeria and Litchi Nut trees and our orchid plants need to come in on average 2 or 3 nights each year (always in the month of February).

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and this is the time of year when temperatures drop somewhat. Down here in Crystal Beach Florida we are also experiencing cooler temperatures. Today's high is only going up to 72 degrees.
When it is this cold, it is just too cold for me to go out on the boat. Ronnie will go out in any weather but I need warm water and if the air is this cold, you can be sure the water is a couple of degrees colder.
