The Dunedin Causeway connects the mainland out to Honeymoon Island State Park and is a local favorite to launch boats and kayaks, do some wade fishing, enjoy the sun with a good book or take a nice long walk along the water. With views like those available on the Dunedin Causeway, it is no wonder that locals flock to these shores.
Right now the Oleander bushes are in full bloom, making this fantastic area even more beautiful! A little bit of heaven for the photographer!

Yes, it is true! While the main beach area is off limits to pets, Honeymoon Island State Park just off the shore of Dunedin Florida, has it's very own pet beach where you can bring Pooche and even shower him off before getting back into the car again!
This is just one more reason why Honeymoon Island State Park is such a great place to visit! Annual passes are also available! Check at the gate!

Honeymoon Island State Park is just off the coast of Dunedin Florida. It is one of my favorite beaches to go to and a beach that is popular with locals!
There are grills for those who want to cook their own lunch, as well as a cafe that offers lunch for those who don't want to have to carry their groceries with them to the beach.

It is a holiday, right? So how could I possibly remain away from the sandy white beach and sparkling blue surf at Honeymoon Island State Park?
While everybody was enjoying picnics at the beach, I was there for the photos! What a beautiful day it is today and people are certainly taking advantage of the temperatures being up in the 80's today.

Honeymoon Island State Park just off the coast of Dunedin Florida is such a wonderful place to enjoy the weather at this time of year!
Perfect for a long, quiet stroll along the beach between meetings and showings! That is MY kind of perfect day!
Living here on the Gulf Coast of Florida certainly has a lot of advantages and access to the pristine beaches at Honeymoon Island State Park is one of my favorites!
With temperatures hovering around 80 degrees at 3pm, can you think of a better destination?

Honeymoon Island State Park off the coast of Dunedin Florida was our destination this morning. We both decided it is time to start walking together a couple of times a week and what better spot to do that than our beautiful coastline?
Honeymoon Island got it's name in 1939 when a New York developer decided to build honeymoon huts on the island. At that time, Hog Island became known as Honeymoon Island and the name remains to this day.

Honeymoon Island State Park has been repeatedly voted one of the most pristine and beautiful state parks in the nation! Now money hungry state officials want to destroy this habitat for osprey and other native birds. These shores are home to local sea turtle nesting sites!

Yesterday I went out to lunch with my little granddaughter, Aubrey. Since she wanted to sit outside, we went to the Island Outpost Restaurant on the Dunedin Causeway which leads out to Honeymoon Island State Park.
That isn't a real hammerhead shark hanging there.....this one has spent several years in that location already. Naturally, Aubrey wanted her photo taken next to 'Sharkie'.

It was indeed a wonderful afternoon yesterday on Honeymoon Island State Park off the Dunedin Causeway here in the Sunshine State! Perfect weather for a stroll along the shore and time to take a few photos of the 'locals' that frequent our beaches.
These are our local fishermen!!! Naturally, we have the human variety as well, but I love taking photos of the original fishermen!
You never know what tasty morsels you might find in the sand!!!

Honeymoon Island State Park is my favorite beach! Nothing can compare with the crystal white sand of the beaches or the emerald sparkle of the waters of the Gulf of Mexico! It is on Honeymoon Island that I come to take long walks whenever I have an extra hour or two.
If you get here early enough, you will find the most beautiful sea shells imaginable washed up over night onto the shore. Just be sure that the shell doesn't have someone living inside if you decide to keep it. The same is true with sand dollars! Be sure that … (0 comments)

Spring does indeed mean Oleander bushes are in bloom and one of the most beautiful places to experience that is out on the Dunedin Causeway right here in Pinellas County!
Dunedin Causeway leads out to Honeymoon Island State Park, voted time and again one of the nation's most beautiful parks!
Perhaps that is why all of us locals prefer going out to Honeymoon Island State Park over most of the other local beaches! It is indeed breathtakingly beautiful and located at the west end of the Dunedin Causeway!

Honeymoon Island State Park, which is at the end of the Dunedin Causeway, is always a great destination for another great day in the Florida Sunshine! And that is exactly where I was early this morning, taking a long walk along the white sandy beaches with the waves of the Gulf of Mexico rolling slowly ashore!
Nothing can compare with a walk along the beach, collecting those early morning sea shells that will be gone by the time most people arrive.

Honeymoon Island State Park is reachable via the Dunedin Causeway. Once you get out there you can enjoy a fantastic day in the sun and take a dip in the sparkling waters of the Gulf of Mexico. If you manage to get there early enough, as I always do, you can take a walk along the shore toward the tip of the island and collect some of the most beautiful sea shells! Just make sure that there are no residents inside. If there are, be kind enough to return the shell to the water.

Dunedin Causeway is a great place to go fishing! You can put your boat in on the causeway or you can fish either from one of the bridges or wade fish. There is always something biting and the water is a pleasant temperature (in the mid-80's) for swimming and wade fishing.
It is also a great place to take the little ones and let them splash and enjoy the afternoon as my little granddaughter did!

Dunedin Causeway is indeed the gateway to Honeymoon Island State Park, which is my favorite place to collect beautiful sea shells right after a good storm! You have to get out early before everybody else hits the beach!
But even if you don't go all the way out to the state park, the causeway itself is a great place to go swimming, windsurfing, boating and fishing!
Living right on Florida's sparkling Gulf Coast does indeed have it's advantages! And the water is a large part of our life down here!

Dunedin Florida is located directly on the Gulf of Mexico. The Dunedin Causeway connects the town of Dunedin to Honeymoon Island State Park.
You can fish and swim directly off of the causeway. There are also locations on the causeway to put boats into the water.
It is a short drive from there to Honeymoon Island State Park, one of the most beautiful beaches in the state! Residents of Dunedin don't have far to go to enjoy the white sandy beaches and sparkling waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

Caladesi Island is just off the coast of Dunedin! You can get there by boat and if you don't own one, you can take the ferry from Honeymoon Island State Park, which is at the end of the Dunedin Causeway. Caladesi Island has restrooms and shower facilities and there is even a place to purchase drinks and sandwiches which is run by the park service.

I live in north Pinellas County and love our north Pinellas County Florida beaches! My very favorite is Honeymoon Island State Park is off the shores of Dunedin! It is a beautiful beach with miles of shoreline for long walks. There is a doggy beach specifically for your pet pooch too!
