How many pollywogs can you see in this photo? I managed to get a count of five. There were little kids all around counting them and having a blast. This is just one of the things that I love about Brooker Creek Preserve east of Tarpon Springs Florida. Pollywogs, deer, an assortment of other wild animals and miles of trails to hike. This is a fantastic site to launch your kayak, have a picnic, go hiking or learn a little about the archeological digs that have taken place at this site.
When planning a day in Weedon Island Preserve, be sure to bring your camera and have plenty of time. There is so much here to see and enjoy!

pinellas county parks: Eagle Lake Park Of Largo Florida - 163 Acres Of Family Fun!
- 01/19/13 05:53 AM
Eagle Lake Park located on Keene Road in Largo Florida is a beautiful 163-acre park that once belonged to the Taylor family. This pioneering family raised cattle and had orange groves. Many of these trees are still growing in the park. Pinellas County purchased two sections which now comprise the park back in 1998 and 2006. Now county park-goes can enjoy the picnic shelters, playground, fishing piers and miles of hiking trails. The fishing is catch and release only. Here you can also bring man’s best friend and let your pet romp in the enclosed dog park with other visitor’s pets. (11 comments)
You really need to have your camera handy when out for walks in our local parks. From deer to armadillo to osprey, we have it all here in the Tarpon Springs and Palm Harbor Area of Florida.
Brooker Creek Preserve actually ends on the northern end of Palm Harbor and is just east of lovely Tarpon Springs. What better way to spend a little free time than out in nature, taking a nice long hike? (15 comments)
Ronnie and I were out for a walk in this magnificent 8700 acre park and I spotted a beautiful deer. It could not have been more beautiful and this lovely creature actually did not sprint off for deeper coverage, instead it patiently stood there and let me take photograph after photograph.
Then it turned, slowly walked away, turned back again and then continued on it's journey of foraging for breakfast. Brooker Creek Park is always a delight and we were not (4 comments)
This 255 acre waterfront park was built in cooperation with the US Army Corps of Engineers. Home to three fantastic nature trails, playgrounds, picnic areas, picnic shelters, restroom facilities, a horse shoe pit, fenced in doggie park and a public boat ramp with access to Lake Tarpon, this is one park you don't want to miss!

The property was purchased in 1996 through the Florida Communities Trust. This 77 acre park has both a fishing pier and an observation deck located right on the Anclote River.
Here you will also find playground facilities, restrooms, nature trails, picnic tables and a trail that connects to the Pinellas Trail for both biking and hiking. Both kayaks and canoes can be launched here into the Anclote River and there is a small beach area where (3 comments)
