What could possibly make a better brunch than fresh shrimp sauteed in olive oil together with onions, tomatoes, garlic, zucchini slices and feta cheese? tarpon springs fl localism: Tarpon Springs Florida Farmer's Market - Sundays Downtown - 12/18/11 05:24 PM
Tarpon Springs Florida Farmer's Market is on Sundays in downtown Tarpon Springs. Today Ronnie and I stopped there and purchased a couple of salt rock lamps, some handmade local soap and local honey. Some of these items are gifts for clients - I enjoy helping our local economy by purchasing items that were made here on our Gulf Coast. From there we previewed a few homes for a client that is coming into town next week. It was a great day to do it since the sun was shining brightly and it was in the low 70's. Living

tarpon springs fl localism: Lagerheads Grill In Tarpon Springs Florida - 12/03/11 09:45 AM
Lagerheads Grill in Tarpon Springs Florida was our destination for lunch today. It was one of those days when you just feel like eatting out and Lagerheads just re-opened and changed their name from Snookers. They still have the gator tank out back where you can see live Florida alligators up close and personal but our destination was lunch. I had the filet mignon and Ron had the roast beef. Both were excellent as was the salad. If you have not tried Lagerheads on Alternate 19 in Tarpon Springs since it re-opened, it is worth a trip.

tarpon springs fl localism: Tarpon Springs Florida - Great Greek Restaurants - 07/05/11 07:06 PM
Tarpon Springs Florida offers wonderful Greek cooking in dozens of Greek restaurants. The reason for this cluster of Greek restaurants is that Tarpon Springs Florida was the center of the Florida sponge diving industry a hundred years ago and it was the Greek sponge divers that came here and settled from the Greek Isles! There are many wonderful restaurants to choose from but my personal favorite is Mykonos! Whenever I have guests in town, we head to Mykonos for a wonderful meal! Located on Dodecanese Blvd., Mykonos is across the street from Dimitris Restaurant. Dimitris is on the Anclote River,

Tarpon Springs Florida is indeed a Greek sponge diver's paradise! Tarpon Springs is the one town locally where you can go into almost any store and speak Greek! The local Greek sponge industry started around 1905 when the first Greek immigrants arrived in Tarpon Springs. At one time the sponge industry was more profitable locally than the citrus industry! Today the town is popular with tourists who enjoy purchasing the sponges and sampling the fantastic Greek cooking in local restaurants! Tarpon Springs Florida should be on your list of things to do while you are in the Clearwater area! The

Tarpon Springs Aquarium is located on the west end of Dodecanese Blvd. We got there a little before 1 pm and just in time for the shark feeding. It has been interesting, watching my granddaughter develop. A year ago she wouldn't touch anything at the aquarium. Here she is reaching for the turtle and I had a hard time

Pelican Point Seafood in Tarpon Springs Florida is the other place we go for our fresh seafood. Pelican Point Seafood is open six days a week, as the sign on the door behind Ronnie shows. The fish market is right next door to Rusty Bellies Restaurant and both are owned by the same people. If you are looking for local fish, you need to check Pelican Point Seafood out. Between
