federal bailout for fannie and freddie: NY Times Article Predicted Fannie/ Freddie Bailout 9 years Ago! - 10/09/08 12:03 PM

"Fannie Mae, the nation's biggest underwriter of home mortgages, has been under increasing pressure from the Clinton Administration to expand mortgage loans among low and moderate income people and felt pressure from stock holders to maintain its phenomenal growth in profits." And they did it anyway.
A friend of mine shared this article with me today. It is chilling in its prediction of the federal government bailout of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
