Pay It Forward: Boxes from Walmart When we moved 4 years ago, we got the majority of our packing boxes from Walmart. If you get there EARLY in the morning, you can pick up boxes of all sizes. You can take all the boxes you can carry and they are absolutely FREE. What can be better than that? Fast forward to Tuesday. We took a new short sale listing. Brother and sister homeowner are having to sell their home. They are buried under medical expenses and not enough income. To get their home ready to sell, they've been packing boxes. I (15 comments)

We ALL know how the Girl Scouts of America raise funds! They sell cookies. (And they are darn good cookies by the way.) Last year my granddaughter joined Girl Scouts and I quickly became one of those women begging everyone I know to buy at least one box of cookies. Watch out, I'll be asking again soon! I am a member of a large network of Real Estate professionals across the country and in Canada. Occasionally you might read something on my blog that was written by one of these professionals.

Pay It Forward: Operation Homefront Today I visited the Dollar Tree store in our town to pick up a few items. While shopping an announcement was made. Dollar Tree has partnered with Operation Homefront to collect toys for local military families.
There is a special need in our area for Christmas stockies for area military families. My husband and I picked up a couple of nicely decorated stockings, paid for them and dropped them in the collection box at the front of the store (that was already OVERFLOWING with other gifts). How easy is that? We were in and out (9 comments)

Thanksgiving Challenge: I am THANKFUL for my officemate Our office, within our real estate office, is not very big. We have 3 desks, several files cabinets, a slender bookcase, a mini-fridge (you HAVE to have one of those) and a few plants. I share my office with my husband (of course) and our good friend and colleague, Nanci Almquist.
We have a great friendship and business relationship. She has a positive attitude and she truly cares about people. She's been an incredible cheerleader for our business (and our lives). I hope I've been an inspiration to her as well. We challenge and (6 comments)
donna foerster: Sweet Childhood Memories
- 09/26/10 11:14 AM
I took a stroll down memory lane earlier today. Here are some of my favorite memories from my childhood. Maybe we share a few.
10. A turkey sandwich the day after Thanksgiving. (OK, I still like that. Yummy!) 9. My grandmother's strawberry shortcake on my birthday. 8. Watching the Brady Bunch when my Grandma would baby sit me and my sister. 7. Playing Candy Land 6. Watching the neighborhood boys play wiffle ball in the street in front of my house. (Girls weren't allowed to play. Boys are yucky anyway!) 5. Sitting backwards in the WAY back seat of the family station wagon. 4. Playing in the sandbox (20 comments)
