candy chocolate: Hershey Job Cuts Part 7 - 05/14/07 05:37 PM

Hopefully this is the last of these posts about Hershey Companies cutting 3000 jobs in the US & Canada and creating 1500 jobs in Monterey Mexico.
The company announced last week that they would be closing all of their Canadian manufacturing operations by the end of 2008, which includes the already announced plant closing in Ontario as well as a small facility in Nova Scotia and a larger one in Quebec.
The bloodletting has not yet started locally, but many employees with 15 to 18 years of service are concerned that they will be among the cuts. They aren't old enough for the early … (0 comments)
