The Kansas State Song "Home on the range" should now be edited to continue "where the deer and the buffalo roam (across your free land)"
While you may desire Free Land on the beach in sunny Florida, it might not be as easy to attain.  In Kansas on the rolling prairie, you can get Free Land in over a dozen towns to build your home, and check it out on the web @ www.KansasFreeLand.com These towns are re-inventing themselvs online.

The book  a walk in the woods is a crack up.  Place an out of work, down on his luck fat guy in the woods with a backpack full of Twinkies and tell him to walk 2200 miles north from GA to Maine....I love to explore different parts of our country, and this book does a great job of painting the picture along the AT.  Bill Bryson is an artist, and Im looking for another book of his to get started on.

Inspired by the post by angus I thought I too could share a bit a home grown story.  This story, is ongoing, and has photos, and mainly involves spending money, sweating and determining whether or not a beam is load bearing.

Do You Tube? - 01/09/07 11:19 AM

I've tried several types, and searched multiple words, but searching for good Home Tours on You Tube seems to be You-Sless.  Tours are jumpy, bumpy and grainy.  Frequently music is way overbearing. I have not found good organization at all nor any consistency. The best part, is when the camera shows you the kitchen, and agents who like to hear themselves talk tell you "this is the kitchen".  As it is now, it doesn't look like You Tube will be a strong real-estate search destination.  Will the tides change?
