virtual: Cool New 2010 mktg tool / feature launches early! - 12/30/09 10:31 AM
Adding to the already way-cool floorplanonline interactive floor plan virtual tour, is a new automated tool that adds mouse-overs to each photo icon! Simple idea, strong results. When viewing an fpo floor plan tour you may click the icon in the kitchen to see the kitchen photo - or - you may mouse over the photo to get a small thumbnail of the photo. The guys in the Dev department got it done before 2010 so... it is live now on all existing tours, and there is no extra fee for this addition. Marketing features like the interactive floor-plan, embeddable

We selected a template (read bought a template) and started plugging in content. The only development department

virtual: Carolina Cool (golf) Home Tour with FloorPlan and Social Media Tools - 09/14/09 04:24 PM
When I golf, I scare woodland creatures as the ball wizzes off the green into the woods. Even so, I still enjoy the "idea" of a good game of golf. Its been a while since I posted a "cool home tour" that weve produced - There have been plenty to share, Ive just been swamped with other stuff (not like working on my golf game). Check out this brick bute in Carolina. Great golf views from the deck. click the red icons to view the photos on the tour. As always you can Click the Facebook and Twitter buttons at the

virtual: Response to Social Media tools overwelming for Virtual Tour Company - 08/26/09 03:42 PM
Yeah - we almost capsized the ship due to the flood of orders and response from agents. I had no idea social media tools tied to virtual tours could have such a profound effect! FloorPlanOnline Tours are going viral - homeowners are happy, homes are selling and agents are calling in the praise. Thanks to those of you that have said the nice words. Brief Summary to review: We simply added the ability for anyone to comment, post, tweet, blog (you get the idea) to any FloorPlanOnline Virtual Tour. there are buttons on each tour - you click "twitter" and the

virtual: Poll: Virtual Tour Providers Close, What makes you stick with yours now? - 04/30/09 10:37 AM
For the first time in years, there is a decline in the number of virtual tour providers available to agents. News of failed (ch 11 etc) tour providers has been steady in the last 6 months - some are casualties of tight marketing budgets or were of poor quality and destined to die is debatable. This begs the question - Today, in 2009 why do you invest in the Tour Provider you work with? Here are the answers I would expect to see, but everyone has a diffrent take/reason. To vote, add your comments with a #2 pencil (or mouse).

virtual: "how many homes did your dog sell last year?" - 01/10/08 07:33 AM
Ok, I'm in tears. I'm pretty sure they are from laughter but I think some might be truth tears - as in the truth about agents hurts due to the link below. The line that got to me was "I dont care about your Dog, how many homes did he sell last year?" I think the piece points out that agents have been selling themself's and their product (homes) short. -Most agents need to step up the way they handle their marketing if they want todays buyer to respond. Buyers and sellers want more info about listings, not your dog. Thanks

virtual: Oh, Hi-Oh (a marketing view from a rental car) - 08/15/07 12:28 PM
Apparently, it is customary to greet people in Columbus not with the traditional "Hi", "Hello" or "good morning" but rather with a firm "O, H" which if said in a booming full voice will elicit the window shattering "I, O" from everyone in the metro area. The Ohio State University plays a big role in the youthfulness of the city. Being from Big XII Country, Ive not experienced this phenomenon before, but the proud locals of Columbus Ohio have reason to boat about their growing Capital City. As an Outsider I was expecting the traditional Midwest hospitality and kindness but was greatly impressed by the areas Amenities - both culinarilly

virtual: Sign of the Times (online marketing) - 07/17/07 09:45 AM
Marketing the fact that you do virtual tours is ok - (I don't prefer the spinning ones) But it seems to me that including in your marketing pieces or presentation the fact that you do virtual tour...well... its a bit like the old hotels that advertise "Free HBO" or "Air Conditioned". - Hotel guests today assume the Hampton Inn et all Have a/c these days. (isn't free wifi the same way now?) It just goes with out saying. Home Sellers Believe you are already doing online marketing and that you are an expert at selling a home online. If you are not an expert online,

virtual: New vs Used - how to choose, how to market? - 04/09/07 06:48 PM
Just around the corner from my home with its now dead flowers from Home Depot, (thanks april winter storm) there are "new" homes that have been on the market for well over a year (getting used by mother nature). Next door to it, sits a home with a car in the driveway and a for sale sign. (but not the builders for sale sign) The home that has been lived in the same period of time is generally not just used, its marketed much differently - or is it? I see the lack glossy brochures and my bias sees the lack of a floorplan in the

virtual: Cool Home Tour #5 - 04/06/07 07:59 AM
Got Green Acre? This CA listing ranks high in cool factor for multiple reasons, including the almost too perfect rolling green hills our Service Provider captured in the photos, as well as the "green" solar panels that generate power. The place reminds me of the "happy cows come from California" adds Ive seen on TV - its just so photogenic! This tour is the result of my active rain post Cool tour #4 - where I noted we did a dock at a Mo home. For this agent we included a Barn view / floorplan. To see, select "Change View" under the floorplan. www.seetheproperty.com/13020 FloorPlanOnline does

virtual: Do you have a Production Department / litter-box issue? - 03/30/07 07:51 AM
Photo Editing is frequently skipped or can eat away at agents time - the photo you thought was perfect, has the cats litter-box right in the foreground, or in the bathroom mirror you can see your good looking elbow jutting into view. But Elbows and Litter-boxes don't sell homes...What to do - re-shoot the photo and bug the homeowner? Skip that photo on your online tour? Do nothing at all? FloorPlanOnline offers the use of its production department at no extra charge on every order (even our $29 photo tour with movie). Photos are scrutinized for hue, brightness, color and yes... litter-boxes...

virtual: Cool Home Tour #3 - 02/22/07 09:49 AM
Wow. This home is nothing short of striking - It had to make my List of Cool Listing Tours. I would buy it, but I don't do windows - that and the 2.795 mill price tag... My favorite part is the grand piano in the cool study - I'm a sucker for a good piano room. (but can only play one tune - how does that make sense?) www.seetheproperty.com/10394 Disclaimer - I'm not an agent, and not selling this home. virtual: 79% in 2005, ?% in the future? - 12/01/06 07:55 AM
The stats keep improving, but adapters are not as fast as non agents nation wide. Oh - and what kind of nut would do this "blog" thing? Bernice Ross Explains. Web strategies Consumers continue to shift their business to the Web. In 2005, 79 percent of home buyers used the Internet as an information source (NAR Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers 2005). While it is relatively easy to market your listings on multiple Web sites, figuring out a lead-generation strategy is more difficult. The hottest trend for 2007 is to start a blog. This allows people to get to know you anonymously

virtual: SLOW Tech Midwest - 10/23/06 09:52 AM
The Midwest is coming up short again. Data just keeps showing that technology is more widely accepted on the west coast by agents than here in the Midwest. Users, however are demanding and searching online equally. There is a growing gap between non adapting agents and the 30 something average buyer. This will make younger, new agents tons of money. Some clips of data from CAR below show the growth steady and strong in online marketing. Here in the Midwest, the average agent does not even check his/her email daily and is only now are getting past "beepers". What worked when the market was hot (put up
