The Crescent City/Fred Endert Municipal Swimming Pool just underwent a complete makeover and is it something to see. Take a look:
The swimming pool has a salt water system that uses significantly less chlorine than old technology swimming pools. This type of pool is easier on the eyes and skin.
This mural was painted by The Harbor Gallery. It is truly stunning and adds just the right mood to the pool area.
The newly added water slide is available during most family and recreation swims. The Crescent City swimming pool and slide have handicap accessibility.

The Farmers Market offers locally-grown produce, specialty items and arts and crafts.
It will be open every Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm until October 31st at the Del Norte County Fairgrounds in the Northeastern corner of the parking lot (where Rumiano Cheese used to have a store).

The Lake Tolowa State Wildlife Area in Crescent City, CA is stunning in it's beauty. The mix of colors, the abundance of wildlife and the nonexistence of anyone else the entire time we were there, made this the perfect place for Jack's (our new puppy)first visit to the ocean.
I have lived in Del Norte County almost 20 years and although I've been to the Kellogg Beach area many, many times, I have never been to this location where Lake Tolowa breaches itself into the ocean.

Our Daily Bread Ministries has set up a much needed homeless shelter at the Del Norte County Fairgrounds - With the thermometer dipping into the low 30's this past week, and that trend expecting to continue another 2 weeks, Our Daily Bread Ministries has made the decision to use their Christmas drive donation money to rent the arts and crafts building at the fairgrounds until 12/31/08 to house those in need.

The Del Norte High girls varsity volleyball team won their 20th straight league championship with their shut-out of Arcata at Thunen Gymnasium Tuesday evening.
The Warriors have not lost a Big 5 match since 2005.
Del Norte finishes the regular season on Thursday, Nov. 6 at home against McKinleyville.
The North Coast Section playoffs are set to begin on Nov. 12, with seedings to be announced on Nov. 9.

First thing to do is go to South Beach. South Beach is a large stretch of beach that greets you when you first drive into Crescent City.

Below is California Building Code that became effective 1/1/08. It may have a significance on your future building project.
It is my understanding that Del Norte County is located within Earthquake Fault Zones or Seismic Hazard Zones as shown in the most recently published maps from the California Geological Survey and therefore is subject to these requirements and does not fit into any of the allowed exceptions.

Paul Bunyan's babe loses his head...literally
Babe's weakening neck was not match for Del Norte County rain and wind last week when his head fell off directly on the ground in front of him.
According to folklore, Bunyan found a freezing Babe in a snowdrift when he was just a young ox, which is where the creature's color comes from. But though Bunyan was able to nurse Babe back to health, he could do nothing to save his sidekick's 35-foot tall replica at the Trees of Mysteryattraction, located just north of Klamath.
Don't fret, however. Babe's head is scheduled for a replant.

The Del Norte High Warriors took on the Healdsburg Greyhounds Friday night at Mike Whalen field in Crescent City and prevailed 25-14.The number 3 seed Warriors sent the number 2 seed Greyhounds packing to move within one game of the NCS championship in Oakland.

The Square Deal Building located on Highway 101 South in the heart of Crescent City, in my opinion, the greatest source of blight in Del Norte County, has been recently purchased by local businessman, Matt Fearing, who is giving it a much needed facelift.

The Del Norte High Warriors end their season with perfection - a 9-0 season. 2007 will be the third straight season the Warrior's have won the Big 5 conference.
Last Friday night's Warrior victory ensured a high seed position when the Warrior's beat the McKinleyville Panthers 42-6 in front of a home town crowd.
The Redwood section play-offs should begin November 16 and coach Lewis Nova believes the Warrior's first game should be at home.

C.A.R. (California Association of REALTORS) projects a modest decline in home prices for 2008, while sales of existing homes will stabilize.
The median home price in California will decline by 4% to $553,000, compared to 2007's projected median price of $576,000. California home sales for 2008 are projected to fall by 9%.
