crescent city del norte county pictures: Crescent City Municipal Swimming Pool - Wow - 10/12/09 11:49 PM
The Crescent City/Fred Endert Municipal Swimming Pool just underwent a complete makeover and is it something to see.  Take a look:
The swimming pool has a salt water system that uses significantly less chlorine than old technology swimming pools. This type of pool is easier on the eyes and skin.
This mural was painted by The Harbor Gallery.  It is truly stunning and adds just the right mood to the pool area.

The newly added water slide is available during most family and recreation swims. The Crescent City swimming pool and slide have handicap accessibility.

crescent city del norte county pictures: Tolowa Dunes State Park in Pictures - Crescent City, CA - 07/19/09 10:32 PM
Tolowa Dunes State Park in Pictures -
I know I have shared this walk with you before, but when I wrote the previous post, the lake was breaching into the ocean. Today, the sandbar is intact and we were able to walk around the lake a bit.  Our dog, Jack, had a wonderful time swimming in the lake, which is freshwater, and the walk is one of the most beautiful in Del Norte County, which is saying a lot because there are so many.
The park takes in some of the finest wetlands habitat on California's northern coast. An ancient sand … (1 comments)

crescent city del norte county pictures: No Traffic, No Smog, Mild Weather & Plenty of Water, That's Del Norte County - 02/24/09 12:24 AM
Here is everything you need to know about why you should live in Del Norte County.
There is no smog because there aren't a lot of cars, because there aren't a lot of people, approximately 29,000 in the entire county!
Mild Climate is another reason to call the North Coast home. Del Norte County averages 60-70 degrees in the summer and 40 - 50 degrees in the winter.
Other reasons to live on the Redwood Coast:
Water - Del Norte County has plenty.  Water may seem like a no brainer, but if you live in California's central valley, or in the L.A. basin … (4 comments)

crescent city del norte county pictures: Patrick's Point - A Great Place to Spend the Day - 02/21/09 11:39 PM

Point St. George is a wonderful place to spend the day and walk your dog. If you haven't met Jack from a previous post, this is my lab, Jack.  He was my Christmas gift to myself this past holiday.  He's my first dog ever, and I love him.

Take Washington Blvd west, pass Airport Blvd and Pebble Beach Drive, turn left into the first turnout.  There is plenty of parking and several paths that lead to the beach.  The walk from the parking lot is not very long, maybe 500 ft. or so.

It's a great place … (5 comments)

crescent city del norte county pictures: Lake Tolowa State Wildlife Area - Absolutely Breathtaking - 01/19/09 07:24 PM
The Lake Tolowa State Wildlife Area in Crescent City, CA is stunning in it's beauty. The mix of colors, the abundance of wildlife and the nonexistence of anyone else the entire time we were there, made this the perfect place for Jack's (our new puppy)first visit to the ocean.
I have lived in Del Norte County almost 20 years and although I've been to the Kellogg Beach area many, many times, I have never been to this location where Lake Tolowa breaches itself into the ocean.

Over Christmas vacation, Del Norte County had some major storms and Lake Earl and Lake … (5 comments)

crescent city del norte county pictures: Seacruise 2008 - You Should Have Been There - 10/12/08 10:43 PM
I had a great time yesterday at the annual Seacruise Car show in Crescent City at Beach Front Park.  There were about 400 entries, lots of delicious food, good music and fun.
This is a 1965 Cobra, one of my husbands personal favorites.  He drooled over this car for a few minutes and then joined the Chief of Police in drooling over another Cobra not far from this one.

1963 Stingray Corvette. The weather was delightful.  The ocean is a short distance on the other side of the structure in this photo.

crescent city del norte county pictures: Del Norte County, California's Hidden Gem - 07/14/08 07:00 PM
Del Norte County is undeniably California's hidden gem.  Why?
Most Californian's are not even aware that Del Norte (pronounced Del Nort) county even exists let alone that it is home to some of the most spectacular beauty in God's creation.
Del Norte County is home to Fern Canyon, part of the many State and National Parks in this region. Its lush green beauty makes you think of prehistoric times.  You almost expect a dinosaur to come walking out of the greenery.
Why is Del Norte so green and lush?  We get about 70 inches of rain a year...which translates into NO … (7 comments)
