My husband, Tom, wrote this article today about one of favorite restaurants in Historic Franklin. After he wrote the post, the photos looked so good that we decided to have dinner there tonight. Yes, we dined on the dish you see below, our favorite Puckett's dish--pulled pork. Tom didn't mention it but they also have a mean apple pie ala mode served in a piping hot iron skillet. Mellow Mushroom is the Best Franklin TN Pizza Can anyone guess what Chicago is most famous for? That's right, their pizza. When I moved to Franklin from Chicago, a good pizza place was high on my list of criteria. The best Franklin TN pizza place that filled the requirement was Mellow Mushroom located at 317 Main Street in historic downtown Franklin. I don't want to confuse people. Mellow Mushroom pizza is nothing like Chicago pizza but it sure is good. You'll find a good number of locals and tourists any given night. Some come for the great food, others for the great music. Whatever the reason, Puckett's never disappoints. The restaurant/grocer has a relaxed eclectic decor and is one of the few places you will find mac and cheese served as a vegetable.

There are lots of opportunities for shopping and eating; two of my favorite activities. Franklin Mercantile Deli, fondly known as "the Merc" by the locals, is a regular stop.
