Did you know you could order live recordings for NAR CONFERENCE? - 11/29/07 10:36 AM
Did you know you could order live recordings for NAR CONFERENCE?
To me this is a great idea. I wanted to sit in on more conference but time is so short. I ordered the complete conference. I just received them yesterday. I plan to listen to two sessions each week. There appears to be 140 session on the 10 cd's. My tech guy (my son) is downloading all on my iPod for me.
If you like to order here is the web site: http://www.iplaybacknar.com/
You can order just the session you want or the whole thing. I thought every session was informative.

NAR's Seminars Las Vegas Do Agents Read? - 11/29/07 09:57 AM
NAR's Seminars
During one of the seminars' in Las Vegas NAR, one of the speaker stated that the average Realtor reads about 2.5 books per year. I have read about 7or so. This does not include by two books that I keep on my desk for daily inspiration. How does this compare with your readings? Majority of my titles are dealing with Real Estate and construction. This is me just wondering.

Retiring the black Box - 11/28/07 01:27 PM
Retiring the black Box.
Just a reminder, to check the NOMAR schedule.
Appointments are set up via your last name.   Many agents do not know that there is a schedule to follow. I do not go until Friday at 1045 to change to the new key.
The location for the exchange is:
Wednesday through Friday, December 5-7
Quality Inn & Conference Center
2261 N Causeway
Please allow at least 45minutes to exchange your key, followed by a short instructional video. Check the chart to see where your last name falls. If you cannot make another agent may exchange for you.

Four Points for your 2007 Tax Preparation - 11/25/07 04:23 PM
As we move into the last quarter of 2007, we should all take a little time and evaluate your taxes.
Some points to ponder:
•1.       Boost or make contribution to your retirement plans.
•2.       If you turn 50 by year's end, you maybe allow increasing your contribution by $2,500.00.
•3.       Hurricane Katrina tax break for individuals will expire December 31. The GO Zone allows bonus depreciation.
•4.       For self employed the standard mileage rates for use of vehicles for work are 48.5 cents per mile.
These points are my understanding. You should always consult your tax advisor to ensure these deductions fit your needs.

Dixie Beer Coming back to New Orleans - 11/25/07 04:05 PM
Dixie Beer Coming back to New Orleans
Dixie Beer was making a strong come back until Hurricane Katrina struck in 2005. Since then the brewery has been in several locations. Recently, the new owner decided to come back to its Tulane Ave home. Since 1903 the Dixie Beer brand has been one of New Orleans own beers.
I personally, am looking forward to their return in 2009. If you want to taste an original beer try a Dixie.

My closing thoughts on NAR Las Vegas - 11/19/07 12:10 PM
Las Vegas NAR 2007
The perfect place for a conference Las Vegas. There was something for everyone. Whether you were there for just the NAR Conference and networking you could have not asked for a better time. I eat at various restaurants with my wife. She also enjoyed herself to the shopping.
The weather although it was warmer than usual was perfect for walking the strip and enjoying the sites. I believe a good time was had by all. I hope to have just as good of a time in Orlando, FLA next year.

Your thoughts on 1800soldfast - 11/19/07 11:57 AM
While attending NAR last week I visited with a vendor, 1800soldfast. My question is or has anyone done business with this group. They are out of California. They offer a license, to use the 1800soldfast telephone number for a given area.  I would appreciate and input on this issue.
They offer use of the 800 number and redirect the calls that originate from your desired zip codes.

New Orleans Saints vs. St. Louis Rams - 11/10/07 05:14 PM
New Orleans Saints vs. St. Louis Rams
This is one to make anyone worry. The Rams are winless. That does not mean they do not have talent. The Saints on the other hand are on a roll. Winners of their last four. The Saints going into tomorrow games are 4-4 on the season. Last week the crowd went crazy every time Reggie Bush went on the field. I know because I was there.

Clocks and Smoke Detectors - 11/01/07 06:59 AM
It that time of year again
Don't forget to turn your clocks back on Saturday, November 3rd. A simple way to remember is fall you fall back and spring you spring forward. Anyway, just a simple reminder. In addition, all property owners should change batteries at this time. Smoke detectors batteries are very important. I have had a fire in a rental. The smoke detector work and everyone got out safely.
