McChord Air Force Base, Defender of Liberty - - - McChord Air Force Base is located about 40 miles south of Seattle in the Tacoma area. The base was developed prior to World War II and is seen in this historic photograph of the main gate with a favorite recreation spot, Mt. Rainier in the background. This base is home to a significant fleet of Boeing C-17 military transport aircraft, used on a variety of missions, including some civilian oriented operations. How Can We Assist Our Defenders of Liberty? As we move into a new decade, with trouble throughout the world and threats to our liberty here at home, what can we do as real estate professionals to assist our military personnel?
