FACT:Nearly 90% + of buyers begin their search on the internet. That's a pretty large majority!
Yet, most MLS systems have a maximum number of photos they allow. The size of the photos are not much bigger than a large postage stamp in many cases. And to make matters worse, their systems compress all of the life and color out of those photos when they put them on their system.

Not being a real estate agent myself, I don't have actual, first hand experience in the local real estate market (Massachusetts/ New Hampshire). My information comes to me in casual conversations with my customers as I am doing their real estate video tours. Much of my NEWS on the market comes to me via the box that runs constantly in front of me as I'm editing video, relaying the 'doom and gloom' economy. This is a common statement that I've heard made many times. People doubt that real estate listing videos work because they don't think buyers have the patience or interest to sit through a 5 minute video tour.
According to one video I recently watched on a blog, someone was quoted as stating that people will only watch a video for 2 minutes maximum before they get bored.
If you understand how video can work for real estate, you understand that this thinking is absolutely incorrect.

Horowitz Associates’ just-released report, Broadband Content and Services 2007, reveals the rapid growth in consumption of broadband video among adult Internet users. According to the 2007 report, a full, six out of ten (61%) high speed Internet users watch/download online video content at least once a week and 86% do so on a monthly basis, compared to 45% and 71%, respectively, in the 2006 study. News and user-generated, non-professional content are the most often viewed genres, followed by movie previews/trailers, music videos, and previews/segments of TV shows.
So much for the presumed 'death of user generated content'.

I really like Brightcove. They have a great player and provide great quality videos - the best on the web I think.
An email received this morning suggest their model is changing, which may cause users to look at other alternatives. Here’s the email they sent out this morning.
