George Bush isn't the only Lame Duck....... - 11/30/08 01:22 PM
We're all feeling like Lame Ducks as with about 45 days until the next President takes office, many wonder what in the h#$@@#$@#$ is President Bush doing........other than allowing this economy to go down, while he jokes around offering pardons, hustling new bills into the legislature, all which perpetuate his desire to manipulate the American People and our lives.  Many ask How? Why?    History will define Bush's antics, in the meantime business owners like you and me and regular consumers (our clients) need some quick relief because as professional as we are - if we have to fight over the one … (6 comments)

More Loan Mod info......... - 11/29/08 04:30 PM
as the process continues to allude those in need.  Is this another Bait/Switch???, Smoke/Mirrors??? or other type of scheme that produces none, if any results for those who could geniunely benefit from the program???
Loan Modifications and Short Sales have been around for years but due to the recent economic meltdown their popularity has become the option of choice for clients seeking to restructure their mortgage payments or be allowed to effectively dispose of property where the owner is resigned that selling the property is the best option.

The facts are the facts - at least 70% of our economy is based on consumer spending...... - 11/29/08 11:30 AM
but whatever your position on offering a remedy, the bottom line is something is needed very quickly.  Just yesterday you saw the ugly side of consumers as one worker was killed at Walmart (New York) as customers could not wait for the store to open for the "early bird specials" and later in day customers fired shots inside a Toys R Us (Palm Desert).  Now that is some bizarre behavior as people are losing their patience and their minds as you factor a bad economy with the holiday season.
All this news is coming off one of the more historically long … (1 comments)

Loan Mods & The Bailout - 11/28/08 11:53 AM
With the timing of the
foreclosure crisis resulting into Loan Modifications as the solution to resolve the crisis homeowners are experiencing, the results were paltry at best and coincidentally criss-crossed with the now infamous discussion of Bailouts.
Now we're really in a jam!!!!!
Paulson intimated using a "Bailout" to help homeowners as a ploy to game the politicians in approving the plan, when in fact that was never the intention as how could you possible justify starting the game with AIG's boost?
Months later the very homeowners who were the topic of discussion in getting the bailout approved have been left … (0 comments)

Bailout news continues to lead discussion - 11/26/08 10:22 AM
Since we started................when should we end it?? or who gets what????and how much????
Is this socialism? Is socialism a bad thing?  The bottom line is WE THE PEOPLE own the treasury and can bail out whoever we wish.  It was pretty refreshing to see President-elect Obama roll out his economic team and bring this issue to the forefront - EVERYONE NEEDS BAILING OUT!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, however you define it......most of us on Activerain are business owners or tied to providing services to consumers, so unless the consumers have the means to purchase what we are selling - we will continue to … (1 comments)

Why did we wait so late to have this bailout discussion???? - 11/25/08 11:14 AM
Those of us who have been in this industry for sometime were talking about some type of collapse during 2003 & 2004, and eventually the bottom literally feel out in 2006 as our economy tanked.  While we knew a market correction was inevitable, we never thought we would see the effects......that is now our realtiy - TODAY.

It's one thing to lose market value as was the case in the housing industry but it's another when other key contributors of our economy are effected.........and the end result.......more people/companies are dying on the vine like never before (at least for the … (2 comments)
