Many in this business look forward to the annual ritual called Baseball season, as unless you have a private box - THAT DOES NOT INCLUDES ME, of most sports you can attend the games and maintain a coherrent conversation - or for the most part be heard by whomever you are conversing with. I guess that's why many use this sport as a mix of entertainment with business or networking sprinkled in. My condolences to the family of Nick Adenhart. AIG (American International Group) has relented after being beaten by public outcry we haven't seen in some time......and has agreed to Repay the Taxpayers 165 Million of the "Bonuses for Helping to Bring the U.S. Economy Down."
We'll be digging to get the facts straight but boy talk about a reversal. A few thoughts..... 1. Tim Geithner has been getting hammered, and rightfully so as wasn't he part of the AIG negotiation in the first place and where was his due dilligence? 2. MONEY IS GOING UNUSED.........TARP that is Many are doing everything possible to insure their business weathers this economic tsumani we have been experiencing. If not for our own business, certainly our customers rely on credit to make deals happen. Some of you may recall then Secretary Paulson's leadership in executing the TARP program switched from dealing with toxic mortgages to shoring up banks so their capitalization would "look good." As we move into mid day Friday (I'm on the West Coast), like you, I measure my success by accomplishments. Now that specs of the Housing Recovery Plan has been announced, another huge component of getting out of this housing mess is allowing Judges to modify mortgages directly from the bench. Like the Recovery, this is not a catch - all for everyone but certainly whatever the population is who will benefit is more that before. We all know that reversing or amending policies can be time consumming........at best, but for nearly 2 years people who fled to bankruptcy court for protection still were at the lenders/servicers mercy to get their payments in line … (3 comments)

2 down..........3 to go!!! The Housing Recovery Bill is also official and implementation can finally begin. What's amazing depending on how you feel...........right or wrong, there's always going to be some debate, which is healthy. Some of you may be jumping for joy!!! while some of you may be utterly disgusted!!! Whatever your perspective - GET OVER IT!!! President Obama officially signed the Economic Stimulus bill into law today. Here's the reality.....at least from people I talk too.............Our economy has been stuck for more than 6 months so taking the posture of criticizing any effort or doing nothing is simply A Naysayers' delight.
