I went to real estate school, of course, and a referral means that you are looking for an agent that will represent a prospective seller or buyer, am I correct? An agent/broker would refer a client to another agent because: 1. the client/customer is looking to buy or sell outside of their area 2. they don't work with the type of property that is being sought after or sold or 3. perhaps they just don't care for or want to work with this particular client. My problem is this: why do I get "referrals" from agents simply advertising a property they have listed? Or I get very open ended 'referrals" letting me know that they are an active agent/broker in Osh Kosh somewhere, no offense if you are from Osh Kosh. Perhaps it is me that has entered something incorrectly in my referral section of Active Rain. From what I can see I don't have anything posted. It's been awhile but I thought back in May I had posted something letting agents know that if they had a client looking to buy or sell in the Mecklenburg or Iredell counties of North Carolina to give me a call. Anyway, just thought I'd write to see if anyone else is confused by the referral section in Active Rain. By the way- if you DO have a client looking to buy or sell a home in the counties I mentioned- please give me a call :)
