Ready for Tankard Fellowship! This month we won't be able to use Devin Hall in Lochrann's.  They have a large party that rented out the whole back section.  That is ok by us and we will just take over the section near there that has the dart board. Tankard Fellowship is just a night a month to connect with Christian men over a pint or 2 and share how your journey is going.  God will put you in conversations with men you may or not know but have the same struggles you have- as a way to show you we are in this … (0 comments)

Do you remember the move The Jerk?  The scene when Steve Martin went running down the street yelling, "the new phonebooks are here the new phonebooks are here!" I hope I don't have that same appearance, but- "the new clothing is here the new clothing is here!" To get all of what our members and future members asked us to bring in- we did a sizable clothing order.  The design is the same as is the fit.  But we brought in a bunch and took no pre orders - and that makes the FCC coffers leveraged to say the least.  Please log on … (1 comments)

Lochrann's Paddy Dash, March 14th! - 02/02/09 01:06 PM
We are working with Lochrann's Irish Pub & Eatery in Frisco Square to promote a two-mile run and kids' 50 yard dash to benefit Frisco Family Service Center (FFSC).  In keeping with the St. Patrick's Day weekend theme, this inaugural event is named the Lochrann's Paddy Dash!    
The two mile run will start in beautiful Frisco Square on Saturday, March 14th, 2009 on a challenging but scenic course.  More than just a run, this event is intended to have something for the whole family.  There will be bounce houses for the kids, a silent auction, face painting and even … (1 comments)

Why are Rates Moving? - 02/02/09 12:53 PM
We all see the news: the Government is buying Mortgage Bonds to help stimulate one sector of the financing troubles.  So, if they are buying all these bonds, why the up-tick  in rates over the last week?  It is because we have a very conservative Government.  The Fed is buying FNMA 30-yr 5.5% & 5.0% bonds.  In real terms, those are loans with rates between 6-6.5% and are the ones that are the most likely to be refinanced right now.  Given that, it's probably also why the Fed said they would most likely continue to buy these bonds through June if … (4 comments)

The Gents Place is open and ready for business in the Shops of Starwood.  Its focus is on high-end shaves and grooming that I'm sure all of us could use. The best part about their many services is that they give you a timeline for how long it will take so you know exactly how long you will be there.  Since my hair has already started its retreat, one day I might have to go in for the Gentlemens Refinery Head Shave. 
The Frisco Chamber of Commerce is hosting a ribbon cutting this Tuesday, February 3rd.

Exercising for Charity: $19.03 so far and a slimmer me. - 02/02/09 12:50 PM
My buddy, Rick Sutton started an exercise web site that helps to raise money for charities, Plus 3 Network.  It's free to everyone who creates a profile, and best yet, if you use a Garmin GPS to train with it lets you upload your activity right to your profile.  Since I have been a member of the site, I have ridden my bike 972 miles and simultaneously helped those in need.

My Office is Getting Organized! - 02/02/09 12:48 PM
As many of you know, with the lowering of interest rates and complications with my LASIK (not following my doctors instructions),   I have struggled to keep my head above water.  I felt it was time to hire a person to help me organize the chaos.  Pamela McQuade is not only an author and speaker (see her here on Channel 8) but she comes in and revamps folk's environment.  So do not be surprised if you get an e-mail from here asking for feedback or other information.
