The Refi mail: - 04/14/09 12:17 PM
I like to warn folks after a purchase or a refinance to get ready for the mail. If they don't already have a good shredder, it's time to invest in one as these guys can obtain lots of information about you and your loan. It is not always the lender "selling" your name; many times it is from lists at the county courthouse or other places. Here are the three most common letters you will receive and my advice for each: The Homestead letter. Here in TX you are allowed to claim your home as your homestead which means a reduction (2 comments)

Do You Share the Road? - 04/06/09 11:58 AM
As a cyclist here in Frisco I am very excited about the future. No, the roads in Frisco did not get any wider overnight or safer for us to all cohabitate. The good news is that we do have some signs on the way! Part of Frisco's Hike and Bicycle Master Plan is for several roads to have "Share the Roads" signs installed. Better yet, those signs will be up soon which will hopefully encourage all drivers to be a bit kinder to those of us on the rode. I know my kids will certainly appreciate it, they want daddy to (5 comments)
A Great Read - 04/06/09 11:56 AM
The author of this book did something a bit out of the norm to promote his new endeavor. He made a commercial, hiring normal folks, to share all the advantages his new book has to offer. I have my order just waiting in the wings as I'm curious to see what the book will be like. Strange, the one guy in the ad looks a lot like Steve Martin, but I'm sure that is just a coincidence. Great 2 minutes to start your week! (0 comments)
My Final Four Bracket Pick - 04/06/09 11:55 AM
I have one team left in my bracket and we find out tonight whether or not my lone survivor can make it happen. Right now, I have North Carolina wining it all and that was no fun to pick. You see, they have a coach named Roy Williams who left my Kansas Jayhawks for that job-and yes, I'm still a tad bitter. Even though Kansas was fortunate to land Illinois' Bill Self, and demonstrated they were winners by clenching last year's National Championship, How did your bracket do? (5 comments)
Campaign Signs are My Business- Need One? - 04/06/09 11:54 AM
It is election time again here in Frisco, TX; this time it is for two City Council seats. Frisco is an open district so every resident votes for each place. I openly support Bob Allen in Place 1 and Pat Fallon for Place 3. Pat Fallon and I are friends and I was proud to see that he was the first to file to run for Place 3. I quickly offered up my services to help, as he does for me on many of my cycling or Rotary projects (Pat is a member of the Frisco Cycling Club and a Frisco (0 comments)

Frisco Family Services Center recently had its annual Gala, along with a live and silent auction - years ago they started selling limited quantities of raffle tickets for some unbelievable prizes. The first few years it was for a car lease and each consecutive year they kept getting more creative. This year was the best yet with $50 tickets that put you into a pool for items like custom 18kt White Gold 4.5 carat diamondearrings, or the luxurious Maui family vacation for four or the $10,000 VISA Gift Card. The happy winners are: Earrings- Jeff & Amy Davis, Hawaii Trip- Clark (0 comments)
