Heading to Philadelphia! Save the Date! - 05/31/08 06:29 PM
If any of you, in the Philadelphia area, are planning on attending the Brian Buffini Turning Point, I would love to meet you!  In person is so much better than on the net:)  Bring lots of cards, too.  Most people run out of them after the first break. Should be referrals flying around for two days.  Clubnet Members are offered the networking session after the event on day one. I'll definitely, be there.  If you are not a Clubnet Member, please leave one of your cards for me at the Customer Care Booth.  Maybe, we could chat on a break, or during lunch.  I love to … (4 comments)

Buyers, Should You Jump? - 05/25/08 09:44 AM
The market is now in a state of "buyer's choice" rather than, sellers will only do this.  So, how can it still seem that the sellers are "winning" in this market.  Here's what I am seeing in our area, in Connecticut.  If the home is in pristine condition, priced agressively and in a good location, it sells in less than two weeks. If the buyer doesn't jump right in to an offer, he will either loose the chance of buying that home or a bidding war will determine who moves into this home next.  I just had this happen to my … (13 comments)

Celebrating Memorial Day! - 05/24/08 01:22 PM
Even though it is being celebrated almost a week early this year, folks are hustling about to pick up their picnic/cookout items for the holiday.  2008 Memorial Day.  I don't know the reason for the change of the actual date of the holiday, but, it has been moved to this Monday.  The weather is sunny and warm and it is to continue being so for the weekend.  I had to run into Sam's Club this morning, in between appointments, and I was amazed at the number of people who were there.  I don't think anyone from my area is going away this weekend!  Carriages … (6 comments)

Going Green! Join In! - 05/23/08 09:39 AM
With every day that passes, we all see the need for conserving our natural resources.  Light bulbs, timers on our heat or air conditioning systems, keeping that temperature at the correct seasonal setting, planning our driving trips to include better routes to cover more errands on the same trip, using less paper and more.  Life has certainly changed.
Years ago, there were no fax machines.  Contracts needed to be hand delivered to the listing office.  Immediately. Pages were rewritten, in carbon.  Messages were taken down on pads, in carbon, by the office secretary.  There was no voicemail.  The lockboxes were combination … (9 comments)

Help! My Widget is Taking Over My Blogs! Anyone? Someone! C'Mon! - 05/21/08 12:09 PM
Pretty funny, it took me hours to make the widget for my new Business Referral Directory.  Once I figured it out, and tested it, it seemed to be a perfect way to get folks to my Business Referral Directory.  It could not be approved by the widget folks, because it is an entire website.  Oops!  They will allow me to use it on my own.  I posted it here on the rain, on my Google blogpress and on my Wordpress blog.  Charity Lane sent me an email last week, that my widget was popping up and taking over my blog.  What to do!  … (8 comments)

Thank you to all on this network of folks, who have helped me with learning all the good stuff to blogging.  Some of you, I have been fortunate enough to meet.  Thanks to Brian Buffini for teaching me how to mentor and work my skills through my Heritage Profile.  It has made a huge impact on my life and business.  I love to give and help people. One of my strongest characteristics in my profile.  Whether it is here on the blog, our Buffini Clubnet … (22 comments)

Time to Work Outdoors ~ Get Your New Curb Appeal! - 05/18/08 08:46 AM
The weather is perfect for your outdoor projects.  Time to think about starting a vegetable garden or to start planting some of the hardier annuals.  I don't know about yours, but, my shrubs are full of new growth already.  They need to be trimmed back.  Keeping them clear of your house is wise.  They tend to grow into the siding or block sunlight from the windows if they get too overgrown.  You will need to get new mulch for the beds and walkways.
If you like to do this yard work, now is the time.  If you choose to hire someone, call … (4 comments)

Happy Sunday Morning! - 05/18/08 07:53 AM
In Connecticut, we have been blessed with another beautiful morning!  Sky is clear and blue.  I know it won't last, rain is on its way.  I will try to get out and deliver some of my popbys early in the day.  It's the perfect scenario.  Just popping by to say hello and then, to leave my small gift of appreciation for you. If you are not at home, I will leave your small popby gift, with a note from me and I will call you later.  This will work out well for my stats with my Coach, Dave McGhee.
Pretty funny, because when … (4 comments)

College Graduation Time! - 05/17/08 07:16 PM
Yes, it is that time of year.  Colleges are presenting diplomas to their graduating classes.  Our future, our leaders of tomorrow.  It gives you a wonderful feeling when you see the pride and promise of a new graduate.
Today, my Daughter's boyfriend, Josh Foell, graduated college.  CCSU, Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, Ct. The ceremony was held at the Excel Center in downtown Hartford.
It was a beautiful, sunny and warm day here in Connecticut.  Josh owned today.  He stood tall and proud, smiling ever so often.  Full of pride and promise, this young man certainly has success in … (3 comments)

Step Out of Your Comfort Zone! - 05/16/08 01:07 PM
Today's market requires more action from you, the Realtor.  You must do things that probably, are new and foreign to you.  Remember, this is the time to learn all the new skills you can.  Keeping busy educating yourself will help you to prosper in your market.  Learn about community programs in local banks.  Attend local meetings at the town hall.  Join some of those town and county committees.  You'll be amazed at the people you will meet.  While you are out volunteering in these communities, you will gain knowledge about the area and be better able to share this information with … (15 comments)

Getting Busy~ Still Prospecting? - 05/15/08 10:38 AM
Yes, Hurrah! Spring market has indeed arrived.  Contracts are going together.  Home inspections, appraisals, dates to monitor for second deposits, are now our everyday tasks.  Busy is always good.  Listings or buyers with pending purchase and sale contracts is always good.  Here's the BUT ~ Are you now, continually out prospecting for new business?  They say that a true business owner, which as Realtors, we are, must always be planning for tomorrow's business.  New business keeps you, in business.
I started reading one of Zig Ziglar's books this morning.  He is always giving out the good stuff:)  Just in the first … (6 comments)

Surprise Mail Today! Did You Get Yours? - 05/10/08 05:29 PM
Last year at MasterMind Summit, in beautiful San Diego, we were given an assignment.  Yes, over five thousand people had an assigment.  It was to write your goals.  They were to be reached by MasterMind Summit 2008.  I had totally forgotten about it, did you?  When the envelope looked just too familiar, because it was in my own handwriting, I knew.  The memory of the goal writing exercise came back.  On the seal of the opening flap, it told us to go to a website prior to unsealing the envelope.  There it was, our message from Brian Buffini.  Letting us know, he … (4 comments)

While Traveling or While Out Running Errands, Show Gratitude - 05/04/08 08:54 AM
This clip was just sent to me by my Daughter-In-Law, Lynne.  It touched me so, that, I had to share it with all of you!  A good gesture that costs you nothing, yet, gives so much.  My Dad is a Marine, and still, to his last day on this earth, he was proud, patriotic and brave.  What strong convictions these special men and women possess for their profession.  My Dad became ill (stroke victim) when he was seventy-one.  They thought he would be gone in just a few months.  Not my Dad. He outlived some of his doctors.  For seventeen years he … (8 comments)

My Business to Business Online Referral Directory! - 05/03/08 09:10 AM

My Business Directory Try it now, you will be redirected to my referral businesses directory.  I made a page for it on Google.  I love their page creator tool.
Clients come from all over the country.  When they relocate to their new home, they may be in need of a few vendors for their family and new home.  I add to this directory whenever I come across a company who I feel will be competent and trustworthy.   Some of the names have come to me, from my clients.  A few of them, are my past or present clients.  They have been through the … (15 comments)

Middle of 2nd Quarter, How's Your Business? - 05/03/08 08:43 AM
One month closer to summer!  How are you doing with selling homes?  Are you on target to meet your quarterly goals?  Being proactive, getting out into your community, meeting with your clients, friends and family, face to face, will help you "win" this quarter.  Look back at what you did last year for this quarter.  It may help you to see where you need to be for this year.  Stay connected to your team.  By team, I am referring to the attorneys, appraisers, bankers, insurance brokers and maintenance companies that you depend on to work with you in assisting your clients.  Stop … (3 comments)
