Continuing Ed Classes in Connecticut, Today! - 01/27/10 08:00 PM
I got my first 6 hours completed today:)  Our Board had offered them earlier, but, I had appointments that had to be kept on those days.  So, yes, I take my classes in the middle of winter.  It has been warmer than normal, so, thank goodness for that.  No trouble driving, roads are down to tar.
The two classes today were, Connecticut Buyer Agency and Connecticut Disclosure, RESPA, and Law Update.
We have a new Board Secretary at Tri-County.  She did an excellent job.  I hope that we didn't overwhelm her.  Everyone did try to be considerate of her.  She has … (2 comments)

Week Two of the Blitz! - 01/25/10 05:56 PM
So, let's here from you.  How did you do last week?  My competitive spirit makes me over perform during these Blitz days:)  I popped by everyone I knew, wanted to know, or who I thought I knew!  It was exhausting and fun!  Seeing everyone face to face, does take time.  Yet, my days seemed to fly by.  Listings, showings, appointments, and yes, Blitzing, too!  It was an awesome week.

Yes, the Blitz started today!  I had several calls from members, checking in, making sure we are all performing our popby duties!  It is really cool to have folks that you have met at events, take the time to call you and see how you are doing.  I don't know that the Blitz was partially designed by Brian to do this or not, but, it is amazing how supportive our community is.  I spoke with six members today, emailed another 10 and wrote notes to 5.  My Coach, Dave McGhee, even called me today! The year, 2010, is already giving me a good start for my business.  Many of us have struggled to get through the last few years and our payback is on its way.  It won't rebound like the last high marker, but, it will bounce along until we reach an acceptable level.  After all, someone is moving, every day.  New job, larger family, downsizing a family home, buying a second home for vacations, divorce, and people die.

I had to share my latest experience with you.  I am sure it has, or will, happen to you.  I have three wonderful children, who are now adults.  They all make me very proud.  Good citizens, kind and considerate of others and they really are motivated.

I have just faced this year end task.  I do have a Coach, at Buffini and Company.  My agents are trained with the 100 Days of Greatness.  If you haven't heard of this training program, do look into using it.  The theory is, after taking this training course, your agents should have learned the skills to become a successful Realtor.  There is even a test that they take, which profiles their skills in selling.  I have come to believe that everyone cannot sell.  They dress up, drive around, and show homes.  However, closing the deal, is the sweet taste of success.  Can they … (15 comments)

The scenery is just breathtaking.  Everything is adorned with the newly fallen snow. 
 

The wind picked up today, which made it difficult for the highway department to keep up with the roads.   Most of the roads were slick and the snow kept blowing across all of the lanes.  Our roads are now, treated with calcium.  Much better than the sand with stones in it.  Our cars are much better off this winter.  Our windshields used to get hit by those tiny stones, along with the front grill of the cars.  However, this mixture that they are using, needs a … (2 comments)

I can never resist a good markdown.  This product I found at Sam's Club, which, as you know, has awesome reductions!  Yes, it's that time of year.  Leftovers from the holidays need to go, in the stores, too!
I had no idea, when I purchased them, that they would be such a good find.  They are Flameless Everlasting Candles.  They appear to be real candles.  Run by 3 AAA batteries, they flicker like a real candle would. You can switch them on and off.  The ones that I purchased, happened to be scented with vanilla.  I have them on my mantle and … (7 comments)
