Signs or No Signs, and Town Regs! - 05/29/10 02:28 PM
In this economy, businesses need to do all that they can to bring in the customer.  Displays, signs, sales, balloons, etc.
It seems that the town regulations, do not allow you to do so.  This isn't just in one town.  These businesses are located on major roads, that are state highways.  I truly don't understand, that in this economy, they actually, ask you to remove these advertising tactics from public view.  What??
Taxes must be paid.  Bad economy or good economy, right?  Wouldn't you think that the towns would be more open to helping businesses grow and prosper right now?

Rented a Bobcat, and Cleaned Up the Yard! - 05/18/10 12:48 PM
This was a project that we knew had to be done, once the weather was right.  Not too hot, (we did have a very warm April, this year) and not too cold or windy.  Finally, last Sunday, the day was perfect for our project.
We rented a Bobcat machine from Arnold's Rentals, in South Windsor, Ct.  They deliver it, right to the spot in your yard.  A few practice lessons and we were good to go!

Governor M. Jodi Rell has proclaimed Saturday May 15, 2010 to be "Armed Forces Day" in the State of Connecticut to recognize, honor, and show appreciation to all service members, past and present, and their families. Saturday, May 15, 2010 is also National Peace Officers' Memorial Day, a day designated by President John F. Fees Waived, Next Weekend, at Connecticut State Parks! - 05/14/10 02:57 PM
At a ceremony today at Heublein Tower in Talcott Mountain State Park in Simsbury, Governor M. Jodi Rell marked the 375th anniversary of Connecticut by announcing that fees will be waived for the weekend of May 22 and 23rd at state parks. This includes Hammonasset Beach State Park, Madison; Sherwood Island Sta te Park, Westport; Rocky Neck State Park, East Lyme; and Harkness Memorial State Park, Waterford.  Admission will also be free at the Dinosaur State Park exhibit center, Rocky Hill.
