Five things that you don't know about me:

1. I grew up in Arkansas with hand-drawn water, outhouse, and (by choice) barefoot in the summer. Almost every boy had a knife that he carried to school. How times have changed!

2.  I served in the Navy on active duty for 11 years-- 6 years in both Navy and civilian schools, 4 years sea duty  and 1 year shore duty at Guantanamo.

3. I designed electronic control systems for industrial gas turbines for 9 years.

4. My wife got me interested in real estate and I was a broker/CFO/CIO of our (with "partners") real estate company for 21 years until we "retired" in 1999. We sold the company in 2005 and are enjoying cruising.

5. For some strange reason, I like spiders and earth worms. For example, if I see a spider in the house, I'll try to either put it outside or move it out of harm's way. I'm intrigued by the apparent intelligence required for an orb-weaver spider to build its web. Earthworms are my gardening friends since they work on my landscaping when I don't. I move them to safety when I accidentally dig them up, keep them fed with lots of mulch and make sure they have adequate water. The plants like this, too!
