Relocating to Charlottesville, Virginia ! - 12/15/07 07:52 PM
I was born and raised in New Hampshire.  My wife, 2 daughters, 8 & 10, and myself moved down to Charlottesville (C'ville) last August.  WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT HERE!!  The scenery with its farms, rolling hills, and trees.  The weather--oh my G_d.  It was 70 degrees last December!  I know, it was a little unusual, but still beats the cold and snow up in New Hampshire!!  Anyway, I wanted to take a moment to fill you in on some "things" we discovered during our relocation.
1.  We were interested in moving to Charlottesville.  We found out that "Charlottesville" means the city of … (0 comments)

Running in Charlottesville, Virginia - 12/13/07 08:23 AM
Did you know C'ville has one of the most active running clubs and running community in the country?  There is some kind of road or cross country race almost every week! Check out these resources:

Each year, the Charlottesville Track Club helps present over twenty-five races, including two events--the Women's 4 Miler and the Charlottesville Ten Mile Race -that attract runners from around the region.
2.  Charlottesville Running Company is the new passion of Gill and Francesca.  This … (1 comments)

Clarification for Susan - 12/10/07 10:45 AM
Hi Susan in Illinois!
I'm sorry I'm not able to write back to you in person, I'm kinda' new to this format--when I went to reply directly from your comment...well, I erased MY reply as well as your lovely comment.  So I have to resort to replying via another post.  I lost your contact info, so write me back!
Again I thank you for the kind words, as well as everyone else who responded to my latest post.  However, as much as I'd like to take full credit, none of these ideas are mine, I just assimilate them from teachers I've had in … (1 comments)

You've all heard this before, but... - 12/08/07 11:53 AM
I knew this, I guess instinctively, but finally put it to paper after a seminar I went to years ago.  I was just cleaning up and found it again. Thought I would pass it on--for what it's worth.
Life Rules
•1.     Decide what you want (your primary aim-your Big Why?)Any bus will get you there if you don't know where you're going25+ things I want to do-make a list
•2.     Write it all down
•3.     Have a deadline-you need urgency
•4.     Make it known to everyone you know
•5.     Organize, prioritize, and strategize
•6.     Take massive action towards your goals/objectives
•7.     Do everything that brings you closer to your goals … (5 comments)

My 2 cents worth - 12/07/07 02:55 PM
Hi every one!  And a special thanks to Tom Day, Jr.  my lifelong friend for introducing me to ActiveRain.
My first post.  Not about real estate, but rather I'd like to take a moment to plug a book that has become my "Bible" if you will.  I encourage you to pick it up and give it a read.  It's easy reading--you could probably read it in one night--and you probably will 'cause the message is true, straightforward, and powerful.
The book is "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolles.  You can try and pick a copy up at Barnes and Noble or Borders, … (5 comments)
