The Indian Summer Golf & Country Club neighborhood in Olympia, WA typically sees on average two sales per month, however there were no sales that happened in January 2012 but there is was one new construction home that sold in February for $349,500, and another newly built home that sold in March for $285,000.  Both of these homes are in The Links, which is on the southeast end of Indian Summer in Lacey.

The real estate market in DuPont, WA (in Pierce County) is holding steady.
In March 2012, there were 7 single family home sales with an average sales price of $283,500.  Year-to-date, the average home sales price is $293,174.
In all of 2011, the average sales price was $285,349. In all of 2010, the average sales price was $313,576. 

Currently there are 17 single family homes for sale priced from $211,900 to $584,500 and ranging in square feet from 1,400 to over 3,400.  These include new construction, re-sale homes and bank-owned/short-sale homes.

March 2012 Real Estate Market Update for Olympia, WA
The first quarter of the real estate market in Olympia, WA and in Thurston County has our inventory levels at a 6-year low with currently 1,248 homes for sale.  This means there is more competition amongst buyers.  In comparison, a hot seller’s market yielded about 600 homes for sale, but between 2007 and 2011, there were on average 2,000 listings.
 
The basic effects of supply and demand are working, and in looking at the last six years, this is the best time to sell your home.

7 Garage Sale Tips for those that Detest Garage Sales! - 04/12/12 03:50 PM
Every year, my neighborhood has a HUGE garage sale.  It’s a big production.  It is heavily advertised in the paper and online, there are lots of signs and balloons posted for miles, shoppers are given maps at the entrance of the neighborhood, security guards are called in, and our neighborhood even has temporary Porta-Potties installed to handle the masses.  Yes, it’s a big deal here in my neighborhood.  Every year I declare firmly I will not participate however every year when hundreds of shoppers are walking and driving by, I feel compelled to put something out in the driveway for sale.

Coldwell Banker Evergreen Olympic Realty is excited to announce its second annual essay scholarship contest, “What makes a house a HOME.”   Last year, we had over 50 entrants who wrote beautifully crafted essays.  We have a lot of talented young writers in our community who call Thurston County home!

Olympia, WA Hospital “Skyping” for Improved Emergency Stroke Treatment - 04/06/12 05:25 PM
When we first moved to Olympia, my mother needed medical care at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA.  As a retired Registered Nurse, my mom doesn’t exactly fit the description of a “good” patient!  But I have to say that the nurses, doctors and other staff were outstandingly caring, patient and understanding.
But that’s not the only reason why I’m so impressed with Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia.  They are always improving their patient care, and in this case, they are using video technology to bring physician expertise to stroke patients in rural areas.
