Bluebonnets, a Ladybird Legacy - 03/29/09 12:43 PM
I think everyone has heard of Ladybird Johnson's mission of wildflowers and bringing them back to the hills and roadsides of Texas.  It will be forever a living legacy to LadyBird, the bluebonnets that line our roadways and paths.  Here are a few in this drought stricken year, still they come up and show us their colors.  How Lucky am I to live in Texas and enjoy this sight every year!

The comment becomes multiple paragraphs of my thoughts and hence a posting... thats what my blog is about anyway, my thoughts and I welcome your comments and different perspectives.

Happy SPRING - 03/20/09 08:13 AM
Spring has Sprung   HAPPY SPRING EVERYONE!What I notice every year here in Austin Texas are the shades of Spring Green.  I recall back some years ago when I was still a native of California and we lived in a fairly barren area of California, my art teacher used to say, let's paint some spring, and she would pull out this color called.  New Leaf Green, well , I would jokingly say, yeah like trees come in that color!  My friends would agree, we had never seen a tree this color green, almost a fluorescent green it was so vibrant.  When I moved … (8 comments)

The "new" Fireside chats President Obama on the Tonight Show - 03/20/09 12:08 AM
Way way back, when I was not even around, but after the dinosaurs, there was this great economic failing of the world economy and it resulted in what was later referred to as THE GREAT DEPRESSION,  along came a President of the United States, Franklin D Roosevelt and he helped bring the global depression to an end.  This is a tale of just one part of his struggle.
During this time President Roosevelt had radio chats that became known as the FIRESIDE CHATS to the American People to reassure them the world and hence the United States would recover from this … (16 comments)

Mountain Laurels are blooming in Austin - 03/09/09 08:39 AM
One of the benefits of living in Austin Texas is what I call the Lady Bird influence.  Lady Bird Johnson was instrumental in making Texas beautiful with flowers and shrubs.   The National Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is located just a few minutes from my home. Its an ongoing living legacy to Lady Bird.
The Mountain laurels are blooming right now, and if you have never seen one in person, or taken the delicate flower bunch in your hand and had a sniff, you have truly missed one of natures delights.  The Mountain Laurel at first reminds me of Wisteria, the … (7 comments)

I'm Buying a New Home from a builder why - 03/04/09 01:36 PM
I'm buying a New Home from a Builder, why would I need a Realtor?
I have heard this over the past few years and I'm sure its something that has been around for a long while.  So these are my thoughts on WHY YOU NEED A REALTOR.
A Realtor will be your advocate.  With a Buyers Representative Agreement with a Realtor you have someone in your corner.  A professional Realtor will help you avoid pitfills.
A Realtor will negotiate on your behalf.  Isn't is great to know you are not alone and can have experience and knowledge on your side.
