Over the past decade, Black Rock has been attracting artists, academics, young professionals, and retirees who yearn to live in a waterfront community on Long Island Sound, but require home prices that are more affordable than other shore towns. This Fairfield County community has been the focus of two articles by the New York Times over the past few years, “Living in Black Rock, Connecticut: A Community with Spirit and an Edge” (August 8, 2004) and “If You’re Thinking of Living In St. Mary’s-by-the-Sea, Connecticut: At Peninsula’s End, a Waterside Enclave” (June 9, 2002).

Advertising Your Other Blog - 11/17/07 11:27 AM
Do you do any print advertising for your other blog?   I haven't done much, but I did just put this ad in a local school directory in my market area in Black Rock.  It cost me $150, but the directory is used by all the parents and kids for a year.  It is a black and white ad.  I don't know yet whether it will cost justify itself, but I did it more to help the school out than to promote my business or my community blog.

My Other Blog is a Community Blog - 11/04/07 10:55 AM

I started a community blog because there was no single source of information for all the events occurring in my neighborhood.  Since this is also my market area for my real estate business, it made sense for me to sponsor the community blog.   As you can see I use the vFlyer widget to showcase my listings.  Potential clients can click on the photo of my husband and myself to learn more about our areas of expertise.
