This is a TRUE TEST for Floridians.  I have lived in Florida since 1962, not born here, but pretty darn close to it.  So I think of myself as a "home-grown" Floridian.  Anyone living here in our Sunshine State will get a real giggle out of these thoughts on if you are a True Floridian !   Add to this list if you like!

florida: No-Fault Insurance is GONE! Protect Yourself NOW! - 09/30/07 05:16 PM
As of October 1, 2007 the Florida No-Fault insurance requirement  is GONE.   Every Florida driver needs to be aware that you NOW must protect yourself. 
Call your car insurance agent and/or company immediately and make sure that you have "Uninsured Motorist Coverage" on your policy.  Take a moment, pull out your policy and double check to make sure that you DO HAVE this coverage. 
I was in an accident Labor Day 2006, and the person responsible for the accident had minimal coverage. I found out that I did not have that coverage, AND I had "waived" the coverage in 1996!   I had "assumed" that I had … (5 comments)

florida: FLORIDA VOTERS - New Regulations: Please Read - 08/07/07 02:49 PM
        NEW Voter Regulations - Please Read!
Did you know that any person that has not voted in the last two consecutive statewide elections is being purged automatically from the voting rolls?  
If they do not re-register to vote, they will NOT be eligible to vote in upcoming elections!!
Also, Voters who moved, but did not respond to mail notices sent from an elections office will be listed as inactive.  They can still vote, but they are not counted as registered voters.  This is a result of a change in state law requiring that in odd-numbered years, voter rolls be purged of people who have moved but never updated their … (3 comments)
