gainesville unemployment: Unemployment Rate is Down in Gainesville FL & The Effect on Our Local Real Estate Market - 02/06/12 12:19 PM

The Florida area was one of the hardest hit by the downturn in the economy and other conditions, such as rising unemployment. The good news is that in the last part of 2011 and going forward, the economy unemployment is starting to go down in a few areas. Gainesville is one of the Florida communities that have shown marked improvement in unemployment.
Florida unemployment dropped below the 10% level in 2011, the lowest since 2009. The Gainesville area in particular, including Alachua and Gilchrist counties, has a jobless rate of 7.7 percent as of the close of 2011. The state of Florida has dropped from … (2 comments)
