austin green real estate: 4428 Camacho Street, Austin, TX 78723 - 06/06/11 04:13 PM
4428 Camacho St Austin TX 78723 is for sale in Mueller right now. It's a popular Meritage floorplan, and there have been one other of this plan resold since the start of 2010, with one currently pending on Antone Street. The thing that I like about the 1902 floorplan (all the plans have names which vary depending on the elevation, though they all share the number 1902) is the two living spaces. It has a master down which is pretty popular, in addition to two full bathrooms and the second bedroom. There's an open living, dining kitchen, which in this home

austin green real estate: SOL Austin - new green homes still being built - 10/27/10 03:45 PM
After the fanfare and furor have died down about the net-zero community in East Austin, construction continues at SOL Austin. Homes here have a zero energy bill option - the super efficient geothermal HVAC kepe usage down and solar panels can offset usage completely. There are still a couple of homes under construction there right now, and last I checked they were 50% complete. While there are still home sites available, non are in the MLS - let me know if you want more info on these. Prices are around $200/sqft which is staggering for a new 5 star gree

austin green real estate: 4 Star Green Condos in a Pecan Grove in East Austin - 01/28/10 11:24 AM
Green condos in Austin - more home for your money with a lower cost of ownership. This remodelled duplex on Thompson street is surrounded by pecan trees, and has been rebuilt to achieve 4 stars in the Austin Energy Green Building Program. Here are a few videos which talk about Green Building Rating in Austin, and tour the property. The builder has included some nice touches like Pella Windows, high SEER HVAC systems in both units, and a rooftop deck for unit A. I like the kitchens and the extra effort take to raise the ceilings to nine feet. So if

austin green real estate: Can We Beat 27%? Yes We Can! - 07/10/09 05:41 PM
The Energy Audit Ordinance is now in effect in Austin, meaning that the vast majority of Austin resale homes require a licensed energy auditor to check a home’s efficiency when it is sold. What are the results so far, and how is the process working? The Statesman has an article reviewing the statistics from the first 310 home audits. There are no real surprises in the findings - Austin homes have leaky ducts. The average duct air loss was 22% in the sample, which sounds pretty awful. It is - air loss wastes energy used to run air conditioners and costs

How is this possible in Austin, TX without living downtown in a condo? . . . Read more about how you'll be able to leave your car in the garage at the Mueller Development. austin green real estate: What’s New At the Former Airport - Mueller Coverage in the Statesman - 03/08/09 12:25 PM
The Austin American Statesman ran a thoughtful piece on the Mueller Development last weekend. Entitled “Ambitious vision for developing former airport is coming to life“, it does a good job of capturing some of the major achievements of our development. It touches on social successes: “From the mandatory front porches and close proximity of the houses to the amount of public open space, Mueller is designed to bring people together. It appears to be working. Mueller’s first residents moved in a little more than a year ago, but already supper clubs, book clubs, sports groups and babysitting co-ops have formed”
